I think you should get your brakes checked I have run 35's on a TJ with stock disks front and drums rear without issue... and rubi's are disks front and rear. Mine stops as good as our car.

fyi a supercharger will give more grunt and succes in the low rpm range from the get go.... a turbo on the other hand will only work at higher rpm when there is enuf exhaust gas to spin it.... some of you have both bag mixed!

The stopping power on my Rubi has never ever been car-like, even after I replaced all the rotors and pads and was running trail diggers, which were really sticky... If I were to step up to 35s there is absolutley no way I would do it without upgrading brakes. As soon as you put bigger tires on your brakes are less effective due to the larger rotating mass that has to be stopped. James

To the OP... your axles will hold up to 37's especially with chromos... however, 35's make more sense on a Rubi for a few reasons. With 35's your 4.10's are fine... you don't need to trim anything with your lift... and you have plenty of axle without chromos (although they wouldn't hurt)... you already have selectable lockers, a good low tcase (4:1) ... Do a flat belly and skid the hell out of it and you are done.. With 37's you will need to re-gear, you will need chromos, more lift or trimming, steering upgrades etc etc and now you are really pushing the limits of other parts... And the final though... once you go 37's all the small trails are no longer fun... so you hit the bigger trails and realize you are the 'little guy again' so you start looking at 1 tons etc etc... or you cut your loses and sell the jeep lol Vicious cycle for many on here ;D even though i have a polished turd with the polish wearing off..... x2 well said !

I"m learning limits of jeeps slowly but surly and were there happy and changes that need two be made in what i would like two use it for. You are in a good place to learn Jeeps, tons of good info in tech and fab section . Also people give lots of advice on issues ...... I'm even starting to learn Jeeps lol ( You never herd me say that )

The first couple of years they made the Rubi's there seems to be a braking issue, seems everyone that has one says the same. It's the same brakes at the wheels as later ones and ZJ's, and they have plenty of stopping power. Must be something different in proportioning or the master.

The first couple of years they made the Rubi's there seems to be a braking issue, Just did a little reading and apparently they changed the prop valve for the 05's and 06's... that would explain it.. james has an '04... mine is an '06... the 'newer' part supersedes the old so only one is listed now.... can anyone working at a dealership confirm that... I hate to rely on interweb knowledge only
