yeah......well i call em like i see em. poor geometery.
the rear upper arms mounts on unibody are going to rip off too. they can't take the forces associated with the 45deg CA angle. they aren't braced in that direction. beef them up.

both my ZJ's run 33's on less than 4".
you could lower that thing 4", trim it and run 35's.

well got the ZJ outta the shop a week back, heres some pics, i had it to town for a drive, it drives and rides just like the 5 inch kit, but i gotta jump it to it with the 235's on it Rear Arms had to get it on dummy tires to get it outta the shop. flex on 235's almost drops the coils outta it sitting on 235's just so i could drive it around a bit, sucks not haveing a Jeep. still have to get the right lower joint for the front tracbar and put my SYE in it and have the driveshafts built. but its slowly coming, waiting on the 37x14 Irok's

i must agree with Jan here cuz the short arms and all that work put into fabbing new arms coulda/shoulda been done with LA and really reaped the benfits of all the fab work youre doing here....................
have fun!

the controal arms have almost the same amount of angle as a 4 inch lift tj! the ZJ rides like it did with the 5 inch kit, and that was good for a lifted rig!even with the make shift rear drive shaft, it still rolls down the highway good. The drop brackets have been welded to the frame and braced. and it flex's good for a short arm system.

the arms came out nice.
lets see pics of the drop brackets and how its braced and welded.
i remain completely unconvinced this thing is safe or well built.

the arms came out nice. lets see pics of the drop brackets and how its braced and welded. i remain completely unconvinced this thing is safe or well built. I made the arms and the drop brackets are bolt in ones from trail master, welded and braced for additional strength. Jason is a good welder and if he needs advice on fabrication, he asks. He's also taking his time and not rushing it. Long arms are no doubt better for a lift like this, but that doesn't mean this short arm set-up is unsafe or junk. Trever had the same in the front of his XJ before long arms and no one had an issue with it. Ever since the "chopshop" thing you seem to have it out for Jason, and you don't even know him.

I can't see anything wrong from the pics shown with the quality of the build, but it just puzzles me why you would go to the trouble of building brand new arms and new mounts, and NOT do longer arms??
I'm sure there are lots of people that put up with the quirks of high lifts with short arms, but the underlying fact is the geometry of them is just BAD. They inherently cause a lot of axle steer as it goes through its travel, and the effectiveness of your front brakes is reduced because the front doesn't dive like it should when you slam on the brakes.
To me, drop brackets are on par with blocks in a leaf spring setup. Not the best way to do it, but basically work by keeping all the stock angles for everything, and gain lift just by moving it all down. I would guess any aftermarket kit that comes with drop brackets follows that. You add steeply angled arms on top of that, you're just compounding errors.
And there is no way the angle of the arms is the same as a 4" lift on a TJ. Look at the track bar bracket, its at 45deg instead of straight up and down!
