I'm actually working on the heep jeep ;D I figured it was time to go SYE and all the good stuff that goes along with it. Old skid out T-case out and somewhat cleaned up Mega short SYE in. It's an omix sye with the tone ring and sensor that replaces the gear driven speedo. Went in super easy. Scottie was saying I shouldn't bother dropping the t-case, but a mini racheting wrench made quick work of dropping the case out. It was nice to work on the bench and take my time. Plus the case is pretty light so no problem lifting it in and out.

I got some 1/4" plate cut at work for my new t-case skid I made the trans mount high enough so the bottom of the plate will be completely flat. I also put notches in the main plate and nubs on the trans mount vertical parts so it would be easy to locate and tack in place. Used 2x2 tube for my frame mounts. I used the mill at work to cut the mounting holes. 1.5" diameter holes on one side and 5/8" diameter holes on the mounting side; super precise and wicked easy to do (sorry no pics). I think I could have used 1x2 and gained another inch of clearance, but I didn't want to have to mess with the shifters just yet. I don't have a body lift so flat was pretty much out of the question. All jammed up there My first tack weld... My buddy lent me his welder so I guess I'm finally learning how to weld Of course 2 out of the 6 threaded inserts for the t-case skid were garbage. So I made up a couple threaded weld in inserts at work.

Looks good. Are you planning to angle the 2" Tube and plate it? Is that why it is longer than the skid?

Yup All tacked up with the 2x2's cut to fit The cut out is for driveshaft droop, if it's necessary. The vertical part with the two holes is to mount the engine skid. No smashing the mounting bolts off All finish welded by Matt (yotaman); we've been calling it the mower deck, lol. More pics tonite of it painted and installed.
