Finally got around to building a bumper and tire carrier. Nothing fancy, just functional. Since the rear springs are outboarded the mount is unusual. That's a body mount from the top, shackle mounts from the bottom, and mounting bolts towards the front. Lots of holes to line up. The 3x6 rectangle tube fit in there quite nicely. I haven't put a stop on it, not sure what I want yet. Then testing the locker I did this. Doesn't look bad but is about 1/4" out of line end to end. Found a new shaft at the JY and dropped it off at the machine shop, since I have Toy diffs and Toy slip. Couple of pics in the woods by my house.

Been working on the Jeep off and on, finished up the new heater install, the gas tank skid, and made a new glove box. The heater came from Summit, I hope it is overkill. The 1st fan speed is more powerful than high on the old blower. I put a ball valve under the hood to shut it off in the summer. I used 2" ABS for the ducts, thought it would work better than flexible duct, if I could even find enough of that. The heater has 2 outlets built into it. The top tube goes to defrost, the bottom drops on the drivers and passenger side. The original glove boxes were cardboard, and as you can see this one had been duct taped sometime in it's life. I had to take it out to do the heater and decided it might as well get replaced. Found some sheet metal in the pile and bent it up. It's all mounted, including the 4.3 computer which is now mounted on the back of the box out of the way. Rock guarded the interior for noise. The gas tank had a few issues so I took it to a shop and had some spot welds fixed, the vent tube welded in and a new piece of rubber and exhaust pipe for the filler. 1 3/4 gas line is a bit hard to find and expensive but the shop had some. Made a skid out of 14 guage, welded 3/4 angle to the top where it mounts and split pieces of pipe for the bottom edge. This tank is only half the depth of later model tanks so hitting it is not much of an issue, but I could back it into something. I have to finish up new rear shock mounts before I install the tank.

awesome.
I remember seeing your Jeep all fogged up in winter with a full crew. That should fix it! Great skid as well.
