I picked up a free plow blade from work , needed some work , but I didn't mind . I used this plow on a Cat skid steer for 12 years I built an A frame for it , I welded 2X6X 3/8 plate to my frame to mount the A frame to , and used my winch for up and down . I welded it at an angle , . It was snowing out when I finally got it working , but I wasn't finished , I found my flaws that night lol My jeep walked right up over it and broke my winch cable So I dropped it down 6 in from the jeep frame There's a pic of my messy shop floor I took off my hawes fairlead and put on a roller I used JK control arms for my plow angle braces I think my jeep is too light on the front end , The plow works great , as long as I remember to keep a little strain on the winch cable , so it sucks down the front of my jeep .................... or this happens I need to wire some bright back up lights , so I can see backing up at night

At least its easy to change that tire if it ever goes flat Why not try making some weights or ballasts for the front to help keep it down?

Maybe drop a spring at a time until the trip edge will work properly.

you have to roll your blade angle back some. I think it's 65* you need

Awesome I like that. I think I know where I can get a plow. Looks like the old CJ may get a winter job. Thanks Scott

Scott, the piviot should be further back under the jeep, with longer arms on the plow

My 1st version on my jeep looked like that, same result, broken winch cables and the run over thing. I had to delete the high pivot mount on the plow and drop a mount down from the frame of the jeep, making the pivot much lower. That worked fine, also the tip spring rate might be a little high.

Everything else should be fine the way it is, but the pivot has to be at the bottom of the drop.

Nice repair, but wearing a ring while working? Two thumbs down for that.

Beauty welding. I'd throw a little triangle behind that bracket.

Beauty welding. I'd throw a little triangle behind that bracket. Yes creepy told me the same thing I did put one on and was happy for the ideal Than it won't go anywhere

I think chefted made a post last fall in Len's build thread about this could happen if all the stress is on that link. He might have just been concerned about the small link on the single upper, frame end or the mount itself, I don't remember but it was a warning I have been thinking about.
Since mine is the same as yours was Scott, this is an upgrade I would be interested in doing as well. Peace of mind.
Nice welding!
