This isn't much of a build, but it's a bit of a modification... Today I picked up a set of used Rubicon rock rails from another member on the site. Problem being they were for a four door, and I have a two door with the Sahara plastic steps. After doing some reading on the topic, I found out that they share common mounting points, and the unlimited rails have a third bracket to mount. My steps were taking a beating underneath... Oh yeah, MINT CONDITION STEPS FOR SALE IN THE SALES FORUM! First step was removing the steps, two 13mm bolts, and four 10mm nuts Next was measuring to find out how long these needed to be... I took the back tire off to be able to see better back there, It's not necessary. The length of the rail on the bottom is to be cut to 55.5" You want a straight of a cut as possible. These are the the ends towards the REAR of the vehicle being lopped off. Test fit to ensure you're at the right length, and there will be no tire rubbing. 55.5" works for 33" tires like mine, and covers the entire seam underneath. Next, pull out the plastic end caps, that are on the pieces you cut off. They're on the floor somewhere. To do that, remove the plastic rivet on the bottom of the rail, and pry them out with a flat blade screwdriver. If you want, you can re-drill the hole for the rivet, and try to re-use it. I opted to drill a small hole through the bottom, and use a small bolt to hold the end cap in place. Fresh bedliner And bolted on the Jeep

Picked a set of unlimited rock rails up in Moncton this past weekend. Cut and bolted them on last night. Think I may make a step out of square tubing and weld it on. Attachments:

Looks good! Not too difficult, huh? I think Dave did that and made a thread about it here somewhere. Post pics when you do!
