Here is another update on what I got done. Went after the Drivers side rear wheel well.Man once I got started there was allot to repair.I'm beginning to wonder if this is all worth it. This is where I tied the inner sills, inner fender to the rock rail. This is the inner wheel well. This is the inner sills welded to the rock rail. Passenger side. I hope this is not to boring for you all. But I think this is neat to be able to document the Rebuild. And I guess somebody might be interested. I know I like seeing progress on someone elses builds.

I love this thread. The more pictures the better. Though it kinda makes me a little sick to my stomach too, as I feel I'm going to be needing to do a very similar job on my XJ ..... and I'm a 100% MIG newbie. I got gas this week though! (and some for my welder too )

Well I only been welding for a couple of years myself. I'm not a body man just a mechanic and most of my welding skills were acquired by welding exhaust pipe on cars. (most were thin pipes). Let me tell you what a treat it is to weld on nice clean metal. I built my own bumpers on the Comanche and the thicker the metal the better. I wish I documented the bumper builds cause the front one came out really good. I'm going to modify the rear one to fit on the Cherokee so I will take pictures of that, and the install of the front one as well.
Thanks for the replies and encouragement. I'm getting anchous to get out wheeling in this.

OK guys here I am back again for another week report. lol Again not much progress, This sh>T is taking too much time. Man is it slow going. But I think all the welding/patching is done. ;D Sometime this week I'm going over it again to check for any spot I missed.(man I hope there's not). All that is left to do is seem seal and bed-line the metal. Anyways here's the pictures.Sorr for the zoom it looked ok in the camera (don't make fun of crappy welds in the footage it was not easy in these tight spaces and the metal was very thin) The rear seat cross pieces. sorry forgot to rotate picture. Rt front rock rail end. Left front rock rail end. Right rear wheel well area. Right rear rock rail end

Well not much to write home about this week. A very unproductive week. I did manage to seam seal the underneath, rear inner wheel wells, and I made a panel to go behind rear seat to hold the rear window closed. I forgot to take camera to work today to take pictures. they would be boring anyways lol. tomorrow I will take pictures to document the slow progress. I did manage to get my 3" lift pieces though now I got to get the front & rear diffs so I can get the ting Rollin.

OK severely pissed off tonight. Just bought a Gator Guard kit to do the floor and wheel wells. Paid $70.00 for the kit and borrowed a Schlitz gun to spray it, I don't know what happened but It didn't go as far as I planed it to . Did the inside floor and just had enough to spray inside the wheel wells. I think the pressure was too high the gage said 30 lb but it came out in a big hurry. I guess this is where no experience doesn't pay off. Now I got to go and buy another one to finish the outside floor and rock rails. This time I'm rolling it on at least I can control the application. Anyways here are the rotten pictures. Man I'm not happy. The Inside floor. Right side wheel well. Left side wheel well.

that seems about right for square footage actually dont be upset. one case of hippo-liner (same as gator guard) will just barely do the floor of the jeep and tailgate. and you will JUST have enough to do it. it is expensive but its a good product.
i would probably (if i were you) buy a can of rockguard from car quest and go over the wheel wells at least to fill in the thinner areas. This stuff is cheap, under $10/can.
