paint the panels with a spray bomb.Your gonna scratch them all the time with branches, rocks and mud and then you'll be able to touch them up easy to keep it looking good.

some swirled aluminum would be neat. i think* you just cut a wood dowel flat and put it in the drill press, and make overlapping swirls on the sheet. Agreed; a google search tells me they call it jeweling... makeprojects.com/Info/JewelingEasy to do and old school cool. But probably not for the full buggy

Im planning 2 sets, one painted and one polished aluminum. The panels are bolted into stiffening gussets in the corners of each opening so once the steel panels (to be painted) are done i will use them as a template for a new set out of aluminum. Last week I was able to drop the drivers seat by 1.5" and lean it back about 2". It feels a lot better in the drivers seat now. Increased the head clearance to about 4". Going to get back on it tonight so i should have some more pictures posted soon.

scratch the polished aluminum. IM going with 24 gauge polished stainless. When using the stainless ill leave the 16 gauge painted steel behind for support.
Still waiting for the new valve body for the transmission so I'm picking away at the details in the meantime.

Sweet mother of Go...... All you need is a 50 cal mount and you are ready for the Zombie Attack.
Love the red. Nothing like Tremclad Fire Engine Red

The red panels look best... maybe even substitute the chrome ring on the wheels for the same color red!

why did you go with a manual valve body, insted of a manual shift kit.

The manual valve body is also reverse shift and has engine breaking. -I wanted manual for more responsive shifts and allows the selection of any gear like a manual. (For example I can start in 2nd gear if i want to turn the tires without going through first.) -Picked reverse shift (P-R-N-1-2-3-4) with no drive so i could select any gear without shifting through the lower gears. It also allows me to slam it from a drive gear to reverse quick to help me get out of a messy situation -Engine breaking so i could use the engine to slow the tires (I only have a driveline brake). Effectively acts like manual when i let off the gas.

Until my last tranny I always ran a manual shift kits. It is in whatever gear i select. I never ran a reverse shift.

Looks like there trans will not be ready until the new year so it will likely be mid to late january before the buggy is put back together!
Not sure if ill run it in the winter or just store it until the spring.
