...I was looking at this and trying to figure what was wrong... grease nipples!! LOL, good idea. Do you know if that's factory, or something an owner added? Keep up the good work man, real nice to see a Yota brought back from the grave properly ;D Thanks for the kind words. Yeah...wish I could take credit for that....but it was like that when I got the axles. I am adding grease nipples to the actual front knuckles as I have on other toy. axles I have built in the past....but this is a great place for one....especially when your in the water a lot.

You know... it sucks when you order parts thinking they will be right...wait days for them only for them to be wrong. Then you go back order more with the "updated" number only to find out.... still wrong.
My gripe is with Napa today on wheel studs for my axles. After two trips and waisted time I googled "Toyota + Wheel Studs" oh man they have had people complaining for years about getting the wrong ones from them.
I did manage to get the right ones today... so I should be posing some pictures of the end to end axle build tonight.

Yeah after multiple trips I finally did that and brought my verniers. Funny after they found the one I wanted by taking measurements and using books...they looked up the part number and it was for 1/2 gen Toyota solid axles...which is what I asked them for in the first place. So you can look it up by part number but if you look it up by vehicle it gives the wrong part number all together. Oh well...I got them in the end.

good stuff, I'm loving all of the work you're putting into this, I'm certain it's gonna definately be worth all of the trouble. I just wish my build had moved as swiftly as yours is.

Thanks Dan. Well I have a fire lit under mean right now but I am sure there will be some snags yet to slow me down. I only know of 2 other 1st gen Toyota's with a 5.3 in them from web research...so willing to bet it will all slow down there for a bit.
For now I am pleased with the pace however its keeping me busy in my spare time...but not too busy.

I had shitty luck with POR. I was told it doesn't work well on clean metal.
