will you be able to import from a google sketch-up drawing? There are utilities to import most any drawing type. I just haven't touched that aspect of this gear yet. What is the file extension? some are very common and will import directly. Thanks all for the congrats, yesterday was a pretty good day in my book. The barn ninja will be off my back now at least.

they use .skp, and .skb files
i see there's a pile of converters out there. and i've read that it can be inported to most cad software.
just wondering, it's an easy to use, free software that anyone can draw something up, then e-mail to ya

easy file extensions so far are: dxf, bmp, jpg, hpgl, cmx. I've only cut autocad dxf files, going to try a Saddam jpg in a bit. Then to scan a creepy sticker to test scanning 1:1 templates like Scott wants. He gave me a nice printer/scanner to use. i think the scanner will just make a jpg. Seriously guys, start making drawings, i will figure out the rest. The machine is so fast.....

how about a few keychains like the ones we had at the jam a few years back ? a bit like an oval, and since you couldn't etch JEEP into the metal you could just burn it all the way through

I believe the Pro version of Google Sketchup allows direct export in various formats including AutoCAD formats. Though it also exports to jpg files. Careful now no ninja stars I don't wanna get in another Ninja Battle...

So with that in the garage, do you still have room to pull a vehicle in? Looks like it takes up a lot of space?

ALL that goony wiring and the electronics/plasma will go under the water table, the sides will be skinned, and the footprint will be 5x5, (plus the side swing-out desk with the monitor and keyboard.) Should have 19 feet from machine to door. buggies/Jeeps will be ok.

Wow Jan.....that's a great service to have in the area and the NSJC. Nice precision parts. Darrell is a great mind too and we're saddened that we have lost him. I think he's got a great setup at the college.

Being in charge of a fully equipped CAD/CAM center with CNC mills/lathes and digitizing/prototyping equipment that does not have production schedule......dream job. I rode him hard to take the job.
