Just after we moved in here, that's what my step daughter called it, she had never lived in a place with a shop before.
It's 30x50, 14' ceiling in the bottom, 10x12 door, apartment on top in the front 35', shop behind that with storage over the apartment.
I haven't used it a lot in the 4 years we have been here. I have a fully equipped shop I work out of at the farm, and with teenagers and a baby, I didn't have much time or money for it. Teenagers are all gone now, and Olivia is getting older, so I'm working on getting it set up.
The man door leads into a room partitioned off (1/4 of the floor space) with a wooden sub-floor. All the plumbing for the apartment is in here.
I've got an oil furnace and wood stove in here. Most of what's stored in here isn't mine, including the 1963 Austin Healey 3000 MkII.
If has big doors leading out to the main shop.
About middle of the shop looking to the front. just getting some new lights hooked up.
Looking the other way. I was given some nice cabinet/benches, have to get them put in place. The big yellow shelf was in the shop, it's double sided and very heavy.
Looking to the right, more cabinets I was given, and my 1993 Dakota I bought new.
From the back looking at the partition.
Looking in the back corner. There is a wood furnace behind the truck, needs duct work.
Looking towards the front.
Here's one of the problems with this shop, water is almost always coming in this crack and a couple tiny holes. That and being underground makes it a very damp shop. Nice and cool in summer, and easy to heat in winter, but when you open the door in summer, everything sweats bad.
A shot from up at the back. You can see some more work I have to do next summer. My AMX is stored in here, along with summer stuff and lawn tractor.
Turn around and this is behind me, original owners built it for their donkey and goat. Will make Olivia a great playhouse.
That's my big shed, I hope to get some projects going in it soon, and a hoist too!
