What about the underside where the pipe meets the plate? There's nice spots to hold mud. I'm thinking seam sealer... and I remember my front tube fenders came with instructions recomending seam sealer on the back... but I'm thinking that if water somehow makes it's way behind it that it'll be trapped and be worse.
What to do what to do?

if its not prepped just so, it will eventually lift from surface and trap moisture. Ive had it happen to floor pans ive welded in.
