I run the Discoverer STT(Silly Truck Tire)...I am amazed with 'em, especially on rock! I've been told that the STT 2's aren't available till spring...they should be an awesome tire...if they don't over price 'em... Jeff

I saw these Daytons I think. I know that Jan "chopshop " has one as a spare. If you want an aggresive tire that is the one for me.

Be interresting to have a price and sizes on the second one's. I've run Coopers with good success. I had a problem with my last set. 2 of the 5 were not able to be balanced. They tried with no success. If I was only doing local driving etc no prob. I pound about 40-50 thousand a year and wasn't pleased with the ride.
That was my 5th set and the first time I had issues.

After searching and hunting for tires all day I still couldn't get much. If they didn't carry it, it took them a week to get it. It was $800 for Cooper STT (not white letter ) $800 for Baja Widetrack $1205 for Goodyear MTR's #800 for BF Goodrich M/T's Did anybody ever use Kelly Springfield tires before ? I seen a set of those. Not too bad looking and not too bad of a price $600. What do you guys think ??

Kelly is made by goodyear. I run kelly explorers on my escort, they have held up pretty well. On second set now. They were $45/ea. installed and balanced. The kelly safari etc. are probably made in the same plants as the M/Ts and MTRs. You need a big press to mold these tires, so they will probably concentrate them into tire plants that specialize in big LT tires and wide/big (17"+) racing type car tires. I worked at a Michelin plant for a co-op term while I was at school.. they were a 'big tire' plant, because they used to make transport truck tires and all of their presses were large. They made big michelin and uniroyal-goodrich LT and P tires (such as high end 18" tires for BMW SUV) and BF Goodrich and Michelin low profile racing tires. Which isn't to say that the Kelly is just a re-labeled goodyear, they will have different components, but the QC and manufacturing methods will be nearly identical.

If it's the Cooper STT that ya want Caper, shop around! the local shop here in the Valley quoted me $150. a tire installed 31 10.50 15 and my guess is you'll find them even cheaper than that... Good Luck, Jeff (running on bald STT's)

Barrington Tire on Barrington Street in Halifax sell the Coopers. I found them the most reasonable. 902-425-8473.

I'll give a nod to the guys at Barrington Tire also. I've dealt with them a few times for repairs, rebalancing and a couple of used tires to get me through with one of the cars.
Oh, and they like modified vehicles too, they gave the XJ a good look over when I had it in to get some rocks removed that had misteriously gotten embedded in the beads. Had to open the hood for one of the guys to prove I didn't have a V8 in it when I started it up. ;D
