Cool. Nice little unit. ;D That's just a baby. We use one that big for sorting parts and holding a 3D matrix scanner.
Dig the automated wire trim station and nozzle dipper.
Any idea the brand name of the robot?
Looks like the operator is tapping cycle start or starting M00 at the stand in front of the right sliding window, after he trims the wire.
We'd never work in a live robot area, that would be all caged off, and have interlocks on the doors, stopping motion if you go inside.
Those type of robots move very unpredictably. They don't follow a set program when moving from part to part, they use an algorithim type program to make the shortest swing and least use of axis to get somewhere. So one time it may go counterclockwise on the base, and swing the wrists 360 one way or the other...another time it may take a different route, makes them dangerous. That's when they are operation with machines, monitioring machine conditions.
The hand loading may be using a hard code for movement so its always the same. But still, pretty dangerous to be working inside the machine envelope.
I'd love to see some weld samples! Really neat, thx for posting. I couldn't see the vids from work.

I agree, a little dangerous to be around for sure, Yaskawa motoman is the make I believe, I'm not sure if the vid is from testing or actually hard at it. They just bought a few new machines so hopefully we can get a bit more product out faster. I'll hopefully have a few samples at the crawl. I'll be setting up a little display to show some of my shocks that weekend when I'm not out playing...lol...

Cool, I'd love to have a look. The website is quite good, but nothing like holding it in your hand.
