Curious... cause this is something that would definitely slow me down...
How was the length of the tabs determined so that you ended up with the angle? Guess at it, get it close and let the heim joints take up any misalignment, or measuring... math?
Just curious on your process.

Well after the post on wheels and all your good advice, I decided to not listen and I got a set of Aluminum Wheels. Now there IS going to be alot of "I TOLD YOU SO's" but I just had to have the "BLING " factor on this buggy for now. I got a really good price mon them so I couldn't refuse. I'f I break any I will definatly be replacing them with steel ones but it was just one of those "Just gotta have it moments". I hope Im not wrong too soon lol. Here they are. see what I mean, now I can picture these on it and what paint scheme I will be having on the buggy. I think that they will be just "PIMPIN" lol

Bill, I had made the pattern a few years ago and I keep all my patterns in a drawer just in case. For those link brackets it works out to 30 degrees and I usually make the short one first and then measure for the long one.

Its tricky for sure, I use software.
Nice wheels, will be fun to watch them spinning against rocks and heckle during their distruction. heehee.
Cool looking is cool looking, go for it if it suits your fancy. Downside is you can't beadlock those, with the ribs sticking up. Could go internal bladder style or something.

I'm sure I first saw this on the Forum site somewhere. How strong are alloys?

Bill Once you figure out link length, clearance for bolts and center line distances its just basic geometry. And winging it! I wanna be there when a rock takes the first chunk out of those nice rims! ;D

Yes, geometry is your friend when doing fabrication, and machine work too. Machinists even have a tool called a sine plate!
Looking good Darren. I like the rims, though they won't stay that pretty for long once you get into serious rocks. I'd like to get some new rims like that too, but keep thinking what will happen to them!

Got my rims mounted on a old set of 37" MTR's and took them down to Andy's to see what they are going to look like, and so Andy got a set of tires on it to use for mock up on the suspension. I just had to put them up against her to see what it will look like. Looks AWESOME Enough drooling, now back to work. Grinding the winch plate Andy made up for me. All welded in place. I finish welded the batwing lower link arms brackets. Start on the upper link arm brackets. Inner plate Outer plate Cool shot Andy took of a welding spark. Top view with bushing in place. Top all boxed in, didnt have time to box in the back side, Andy will have to finish it. Going to be good and strong.

is the rear suspension single triangulation? it looks like the upper arms are straight to the chassis, is this better than dual triangulation in the rear? work looks awsome
