I have a 50ft air hose, which I do not need to be 50 feet. I would like to cut it in half and make the two air hoses usable. What parts can one purchase from Princess Auto/Crappy Tire to do this safely? I would like to be able to connect the two together in case I need to air up in the driveway away from my compressor. The hose is 3/8 and my air tools use a 1/4 fitting. although I think I would like to go up a size to 3/8 get a little more ummph aka cfm.
I could probably hack it all together but I don't need to be chasing around a rabid hose snake while something is sticking out of my eye. Keep in mind I don't know the proper terms so copy/pasta would be best.

Keep your 50 footer, save the money from buying parts for a 25 footer.

point well established. I don't need more hose kicking around although the cost would likely be equal or less to do it that way. I'd like to keep things fairly minimalistic in the shop as space is at a high premium and my organizing skills are, well, not very organized.

You don't need fittings bigger than 1/4", I doubt any of your tools have bigger. All you need is a couple of 3/8" barbed fittings with 1/4 thread, hose clamps, and male/female quick couplers to match what you have now.
