I am looking into an affordable 2'' to 2.5'' lift kit (spacers) for my 2012 JK Unlimited...something $250 or less would be good.
I am hoping to get something that will work with the stock tires for now, but will also allow me to upgrade later, most likely to 33'' tires.
I was looking on Rough Country, Mopar, & Quadratec but just wondering if anything was recommended?

For $250 you can get a RC 2.5" lift with new coils. Peck's may even have one in stock. If you need it installed, it's a 2 hour or less job.
I've installed a lot of lifts over the years, many different brands. Some people will put RC down because of the low cost, but I haven't seen any less quality in their lifts compared to others. They have had some trouble with suspension link ends (that are an American made part!), but they do a good job of always trying to improve, and replace parts with the new upgrades. From what I have seen their warranty replacement is excellent.

Sounds good to me, when I have the $$$, my only concern is that once I lift it my warranty will be void...that seems to be the case I found when I looked it up.

Seems to depend where you get your warranty work done, some dealers don't have a problem with it, unless the lift is the obvious cause of the problem. You shouldn't have any trouble with a 2.5 lift. Best to ask your dealer instead of going by internet rumor.

Ok...good idea. Thanks!
*I called and spoke with a 'warranty advisor' basically said that yes aftermarket parts would affect my warranty by only if the parts are the cause of the problem...Rob thought maybe we should install the lift kit ourselves but I think maybe not lol!

While this is true, it does allow for a good degree of interpretation. A lift in itself might only invalidate warranty items like, driveline joints... since they're now in a different position from stock. BUT, because of the bigger lift you'll probably end up with bigger tires... which will put a bigger stress on things like tie rod joints, ball joints, wheel and axle bearings, brake components, transmission/transfercase...etc. All of these things could "potentially" be denied for warranty work as being caused by the lift. The best advice has always been to have a good relationship with your service department, don't take advantage of the warranty for items that have clearly been prematurely worn due to abuse/lift/wheeling... and don't take a muddy jeep in for service. All that being said... a 3" lift is pretty minor. Use common sense, and the warranty denied issue is, for the most part, a non issue. Bill

Bill I have talked with one of the service guys at Dartmouth dodge. I asked if lifts void warranties and he told me no. Other than the parts you replace, springs and such. Did say that larger tires could cause warrantie issues. He suggested keeping my stock tires if I ever upsize and put them on anytime I bring it in for service. Sent from my SGH-I747M using proboards

it's the same thing as when i install remote starters...dealers can't warrenty something they never installed or they promote. so alot of dealers say it'll void the warrenty and that will stop alot of people from having fun with there cars. i've had a 4" lift in my JK for a year now without to many probs (knock knock). i say go for it...just if you take your jeep in for service work, put your stock tires back on and take it through a car wash first lol
