I was thinking about making one of those fire truck and put a dump box to deliver some firewood.

Both would be cool to have. I wonder if the second fire truck comes with all the fire gear in it? If so the re-sale on that stuff would be huge.

Not many volunteer fire dept.'s busting at the seams with cash to buy gear. They beg and borrow to get it.
Equipment on fire trucks like ladders goes to scrap, can't get it certified.
This is why you see so many cheap firetrucks for sale. The trucks are in good shape...just can't use them anymore from the regulations the equipment has to be certified to.
The gear gets ripped off, scrapped, and then the truck gets put to use.

Your front line truck ,pumper, can be no more than 10 years old and the back up pumper can be no more than 20 ,before it has to be re certified ,for insurance reason .it costs almost as much to recertify one as it does to by new,plus the old truck has to be brought up to the new safety regs. Cheaper to sell em for scrap !
