I also am seeing a huge timesaver in using that brake kit when it comes to plumbing mine for brakes. That's genius.

Cool. I remember seeing the nylon brake kits and have always wondered if they would work well.
Since they are soft material I would imagine once pressure is applied they would want to jump around a bit or try and straighten out unless secured really well. If you have ever seen hydraulic lines on a wood splitter or heavy equipment move when pressure is applied then you know what I mean.

Kit wasn't that much, think it was around $65.00 and extra fittings aren't that much. It was pretty easy to install. A couple hours I had the buggy done. You do have to be careful where and how you route the line. It doesn't like heat and needs to be clamped down pretty good.

Didn't think that nylon line could handle break pressure! Interesting. They use it on stock cars eh? Jackshaft looks good, does the companion flange bolt on the front? What did you use under there? a pinion? Moving along good now....keep at 'er! By what I've read the nylon line has a burst rating of 1900 psi. So it should be ok for what I'm going to be doin.with the diesel and the gearing that I have in the buggy I don't need brakes anyways. LOL I cut off a Toyota pinion to make the jack shaft, and used a stock flange. Think I'm using a 1.5" bearing in the pillow block. Bearing runs where the pinion seal would of been.

Getting close now. It's moving around under its own power now. Had it out for a little spin around the yard. Didn't do to much, since I don't have a gas petal in it yet. The torque of the diesel is a lot different than the other 4 banger buggies that I had. It had no problem takin of in any of the ranges at a idle. The brakes are pretty much useless in low range. I can stand right on them and it just idles right through them. Hoping to get it out in the rocks next weekend

Brought the scales home from work. Been wanting to know the weight of this buggy since I started it. Very happy with the out come. I didn't get down around the 2000lbs range, but it did come in under the 2500lbs range. And the weight front to rear is pretty good too, by the time I get my fat ass in there, they'll be almost equal. LOL 1000lbs lighter than the lightest V8 buggy, down here!!!
