A little bit of an update, but not much.. Lol Built a floor pan for the drivers side. There's not goin to be much sheet metal to this buggy. Just enough to have a spot for my feet, and a bit of a dash for a couple of gauges Drivers floor pan Built a fuel cell Built a little sump in the bottom , to trap the fuel for those bad angles And that's it. Might be spring before I get back at. Must be gettin old. Don't have much interest in workin on it in the cold.

We're all getting old. I had to fix the starter on my truck last Friday morning. Very cold! Didn't like it either! LOL My hands don't work in the cold so well anymore.

Been picking away at the buggy slowly. Picked up a Wilwood dual petal assembly from Pecks. With this setup the front and rear brakes have seperate master cylinders . I chose a 7/8" master for the front brakes and a 3/4" master for the rear. The brake master cylinders share the same petal with a balance bar. Pretty bad when you buy a fancy petal assembly like this and then cut the petals up. LMAO. have alkinds of leg room now. Made a mount for the orbital valve Cut up a bit more tube and got the roof bars tacked in place. Buggy is starting to come together now. I could almost have it runnin in a month, if I had the time. LOL

Put a little time in this weekend and got the major tube work all mocked up,and tacked in the buggy. Finished up the belly and got the skid for the oil pan mocked up. Hope this drivetrain is reliable, because I'm not goin to be able to get at anything from the bottom. Everything has to come out the top. Frame work around the engine Twisted it up, and have lots of room at full stuff in the rear Had a little bit of a interference issue in the front at full droop. A little work with the hammer and things are good again. I'm debating on not putting a fire wall in this buggy. Maybe just a little shield right behind the engine. The visibility is awesome without a firewall. Stuck a few tabs on the fuel cell, and set in place.

killer stuff man. really solid looking belly. About the firewall - since its diesel, fire isn't much of a concern. It won't burst into flames like a gas motor can.
Can you make the front upper tabs a bit longer to help the airshock clearance, or will that put it into the tire on compression?

The VW Nerds are curious about your engine mount on the front side (injection pump side) of the engine. If you wouldn't mind satisfying our curiosity with a photo it'd be appreciated

looks awesome. It would probably be a good idea for your safety's sake to have something in the firewall area, whether it be thin lexan or something else. Just remember that when you are spinning and digging in the rocks and dirt, you need something between you and the tires.

Looks great Rue !! Are you working in a moving Van body ? looks like pretty tight Quarters cube van box I think. When I feel cramped or try to blame something on my workspace.....I think of the awesome shit Rue is turning out of a cube van and get back to work. No excuses!

body heat should keep it warm, if that's any consolation!
