I could look back through the thread but does this have a turbo? My winches are going on my housings also. Another exhaust pipe through the front fender, I love it.

Yes it has a turbo, that should knock some of the noise down. Donnie's buggy isn't that noisy, and he only has a foot of exhaust comin straight up through the hood.

I had been running straight exhaust on my car the past while, it's louder for sure but not Naturally aspirated loud. Listening to the turbo whine is totally worth it About the only reason I'd add more exhaust would be to keep the soot out of your lungs.

Rue traded me a diff at Valley Crawl for some future work when I sheared my pinion off. Wound up needing a battery box, so here it is.... He needed the top to bolt on from the sides, instead of the more common front/back bolts. Its in a pretty tight spot, so I made it as close to the battery as I could. Cell phone pics and texted dimensions worked out just fine. He wanted it flat on bottom, no holes, because mounting is not defined yet. There ya go, thx for the diff. Note the bend line on the top tab between the batt posts is off by 1/8". A wee boo-boo. I didn't feel it was worth making a new top, you can just weld a little tab on there yourself. Hope you don't mind, didn't think you would.

Since spring was takin its time coming, and it was a like cool to be workin out in my box( I'm getting to be wimpy the older I get), I figured I'd clean up the soot maker. Ended up takin the head off, and goin through it. When I had the valves out, I figured I might as well do a quick port job. Some say that porting don't do much for turbo engines, but I figured it could hurt it any. At lease I can get my figure in around the short turn now. After I got the head work done, I put it back on with a MLS head gasket from a newer AAZ engine and newer non torque to yeild bolts. Should be able to give it some more boost now. All cleaned up Now that the weather is gettin warmer it's time to get back at the chassis and get this thing back together.

Looks good. Can see what's going on now!
Is the fuel pump driven by a cogged belt off the cam, what's going on there?

Timing belt runs cam, injection pump and oil pump. Loose the belt, and ur screwed. Not to foget these are an inference engine, so u'll bend a bunch of valves too. LOL

LOL a fella down the road from me who burns waste motor oil and veggie oil rolled into a friend's yard when I was there one day, his Subaru with a non-turbo VW engine in it had quit. We looked under the hood for a minute, then I grabbed the cam pulley, and it spun freely and wiggled up and down. he lost his belt and sheared the cam-shaft in two. not sure what else he destroyed.
