Yesterday my wife was doing some yard work in the front yard and had the stereo playing in the Jeep while she worked. After she was done, she shut it down and came in to cook supper. Afterwards, we go to go out and it was DOA. A quick boost from my TJ and all was well and off we went. Get in to come home and not a stitch of power to it. No dome lights, NOTHING. Boost it again and it starts, but if I let the rpms drop it would die out. Did this 2x and said f**k it and had it brought home on a flatbed. Get it in the garage and put the trickle charger on it overnight. Come this morning, take the charger off and get in. Bright dome lights come on, out in the key, turn ...and then again... NOTHING. Lights go out, and no power once again.
Put a multi meter to the battery and reads 12.9v... Even though nothing comes on in the Jeep.
Any advice?
Going to start with cleaning terminals, checking grounds, etc. It was working perfectly fine before last evening...

You killed it . Needs new battery. Some don't recover after a full deep discharge. They can read 12.9v and not have enough amps to turn over. If putting a jump on it works then its the battery.

I don't know. The PO said it was new before bringing it here from California in August 2013.

Well if it works with a jump I don't see how it could be anything but a bad battery. edit: Just saw on Facebook it was dirty terminals so I was wrong. A new battery still would have fixed it though.
