So my heep took a little drink yesterday & soaked my air filter I ran the rest of the day without the filter with no issues On the way home I met a couple cars on the dirt road so she may have taken in a bit of dust
Further down the road it started acting up a bit so I stopped to check it out It had a high idle in park while stopped Took off again and it didn't want to shift unless it was almost redlined Starting working a bit better and made it home
I checked the engine light and it was P0121 for the throttle position sensor I took the throttle body off to give it a good cleaning, cleaned the sensors, and installed a new air filter It worked great for the first 5 mins then started acting up again, not shifting properly & a high idle when parked
I unhooked the TPS & tried running it like that The high idle was gone & it shifted much better, but it still sputtered with too much gas So here's my question, is this a true test that the TPS is bad, or could it still be something else?
Thanks John

Try cleaning the TPS, might just have some grit in it from running with the filter out.

New sensor installed and runs like a champ again
I figured I'd check the resistance of the new one vs the old one before I installed it From what I read it should range from .25-4.8 v The slowly rotated the new sensor and it evenly ascended from .27-4.7 The old one went from .3 to about 4 @ about 1/2 rotation Then it went out of range, then to about 9 then out of range then back to about 8 and back up to 9
