Same here... just blew mine the other day. There must be a decent bolt-in replacement.

Andre at APJ found a speaker that would fit in his collection... replaced it this morning by cutting out some of the plastic inside the sub box as well as putting 1/4 inch spacers under the speaker screws. the dust shield wouldnt fit any more so i cut up a pair of pantyhose ( no, they we not mine...) to use for dust shield.
At the same time i put the power box for the CB radio inside the centre console a ran the wires under the carpeting. much cleaner now.
I would put a picture up but the forum seems to be over its attachment limit

They are know to blow out, and there is a simple fix for it.
Pull the sub speaker out and you'll notice that it's separated...take a tube of weather strip maker or similar, glue it back on. Doesn't have to be pretty. Stick it back in, snug the screws up and give it time to cure.
I've been running mine like it for a while, and I play a lot of heavy thumpin music.

I think it was a 3M type, similar to a rubberized seal. I gooped it on, let it sit till it turn just a bit tacky them chicked it in.

I used black rtv gooped on the split and chucked the screen. Let it dry overnight and bolted it all back together, sounds the same as it ever did, which is good enough for metal.

I searched for one for a long time, finally pulled it apart , had some rvt in the garage so thought I'd try it..... That was a year ago, still works fine.
