I know the rubicon front dana 44 isnt a true dana 44, so if/when i snap an axle shaft what do you use to replace a dana 30 shaft a 44 shaft or does it take its own inbetween size and spline thats gonna be impossible to find used

The shafts are 44's the outer stub shafts are 30's...... they are fun to find and $$$. Most step up to rcv's after breaking a couple.

Ya, you have to replace the inner shaft with something new or another used Rubi shaft. There aren't cheap old swaps. The outers are the same between Rubi/Non-Rubi. Make Sure if buying used, you are aware that the stub shafts have two different u-joint sizes. Old ones from XJ's can be a smaller joint. The Rubi uses same size joint in stub shaft as later XJ's and all TJ's. Not really your question, but that's where you usually run into fitment problems. I'd highly recommend jumping to RCV's instead of aftermarket u-joint style axles, which break a lot. RCV's are extremely high quality, and have full strength at full turn (ujoints are reduced to something like 50% at full lock). They don't hop when doing a burnout and turning. (CV - constant velocity = smoothness). www.rcvperformance.com/product-details-axles.aspx?sku=CVJ44
