Well here is a good one for all.
i just bought what i thought was a 05 LJ Rubi and according to the VIN it is. Got underneath the other day and things were not looking right.
Took it in to Andre to take a look at it and got a huge surprise. Come to find out that my Rubi has a Dana 35 in the rear and a 30 in the front.
Now am not a happy camper. So after some advice from some people around the shop (sorry did not catch any other names), I call and tell them I will be coming to visit today and told them that did not get the vehicle that i thought I had bought. Showed up at the dealer (Rallye Motors in Moncton, Hyundai dealer) and sat down with the general manager. Armed with the specs printed off from the jeep dealer specific to my "Rubi".
I tell him that this vehicle was not what I had payed for and that they would have to take it back. The manager says "we don't do that and there is nothing we are going to do for you. It is a used car and you are suppose to verify that that was the vehicle i was buying. I told him by advertising a Rubicon it comes with Dana 44's
and that anything else would not be considered a Rubi. On a side note they had no clue in the difference between a 30, 35 or 44 so i did not go into specifics of a Rubi. At this point the blood pressure is peaking and i am ready to explode. I mention false advertising and fraud and he said to me that it was not listed with 44's so they are not responsible. Asked for his boss, no joy as this guy gave me the run around. So after some raised voices from me it ended with me leaving in a rage.
So hear i am with a Rubi with non Rubi axles, a massive headache and an appointment with a lawyer next week.
I know this was a long rant but i just had to get it out to people who understand what i am talking about.
