Looks great! Can't wait to see 'er on the Heep. Yup, like Alan said, I'll be switching on my comp. just before getting to the end of the trail. I'll install a press switch. Yes, and if some way I were to poke a hole in it and it were pressurized, it would be less exciting then poking a hole in a pressurized tire.

Nice bumper. I thought about that for my new rear bumper, but couldn't figure out where to put the bung where it would be both accessible and not easily damaged. What are your plans? I've just decide to go the York compressor route with a tank in the back.
I also concur that you needn't worry about it "blowing up." 100 psi is nothing. Air at less than 250psi doesn't need registration.

Well, my comp. is mounted on my passenger rear fender, so I was thinking of running two lines (supply and return) either somewhere through the tub around the taillight, or running it through the fender and underneath. I'd use grommets.

Picture of the hinge, machined a piece to hold 2 ball bearings. I'll drill the bolt for a grease fitting. I made a threaded plug welded in the bumper for the bolt The latch, simple and secure, no trouble with it sticking or rusting. Tractor pins are very strong, and spares are cheap. It will be all built tomorrow, painted and ready to go on for Saturday morning.

I should make Alan pay me $1 every time someone uses Justa, then I would only owe him $$ instead of $$$$ for all the free labour.

That reminds me, I noticed in the Feb 13th PA flyer, page 30, there is a latch for $3.99. Looks like it would make a good swingout tire carrier latch. Check it out:

tow hook mounts look pimp too! I figured you'd spot those! They'll look better on your Jeep. Enos, I have just one thing to say - new floors.

I think I totally misunderstood the first pics. Any reason the hinge is on the left Alan? Is it so the tailgate swings out all the way? I guess I'm used to seeing the oldies with the hinge on the right.

Mark found one made that way before I did his, seemed like a good idea for it to swing out of the way of the tailgate, so that's the way I make them. I put a spring loaded lock pin to hold it open too.

Mind reader? I'm sure some of us were thinking it, I know I was. Can't get any better than that! Make sure we get a look at the finished product.
