Looking great Alan!!! I'm stoked! ;D Just to let everyone know, it's going to have tabs for a backup light(s) CB whip, and High Lift mount too! Can't wait for sat. Wheeling and getting the ultimate bumper/carrier!!! Wooohooo!!!! Oh, and yes the plan is to mount it before heading out on the run sat.

What about the attachment points. Bolts ;D You tease me soooo! ;D Similar to factory bumper - standoffs bolted through rear cross member. Reason I ask is that I was wondering could you remove factory rear cross member and bolt bumper to frame via steel brackets running along the frame or boxed over the frame rail.

Yes, this bumper will have standoffs welded to the plates running through the bumper, and to the back of the tube, plus tabs to use the holes under the frame.
On other bumpers I have put bolts or nuts welded right in the bumper, with the bumper mounted tight to the cross member. I didn't do it that way this time because the bumper is airtight, and the other bumpers didn't have shackle tabs.
I wouldn't take the cross member off. If you want extra strength, L brackets can be put on the back going over to holes in the frame. Someday I hope to have time to make some when I have a TJ here.

Thanks Alan for that. I have seen the L tie-in brackets (Jeeperman rear bumpers). Your bumper looks really nice - like the swing out design too. PS I have a TJ. ;D

This is the only pic I got before my batteries died. It's all finished and painted now. I'll get pics in the morning, including ones installed.
