I myself have never been to jam the chief tells me how much fun it is.But with a wife and teenage daughter it would cost $600.00 guessing we don't have to pay for the new born.So family based jam is priced for someone single. 150 people at $200.00 a head is $30,000.00.Thats alot of money.Maybe you could ask some of your sponsor to pay for the tent or other things and loss a prize or 2. I have not been to jam or a member of the club do to time. You could post costs in the club section.Maybe some of your club members could find cheaper ways. Your a none profit group that does great things in the area ask people in the area for donations. All they can do is say no.

It looked like a tonne of fun, I saw Jonathan come out of the woods with a load of people on Saturday...just before my Jeep died lol. My wife and kids were looking at all the jeeps ooohing and aahhhhing and saying to me how much fun would that be! I know I haven't ever been on a Jamboree, but as a father of 2 little boys there's LOTS of distractions for kids. Kids love smores and roasting marshmallows, glowstick tag, ghost stories, kids dance (open up the back hatch of a jeep and let the good times roll). Dollar store Pinata, check kid's birthdays to see if any are over the weekend and have them celebrate it with all the others. Foam swords from the Dollar Store lets little boys beat on eachother for hours ;D I take it for campgrounds you pick cheap and Jeep friendly, but has the idea ever been carried out of asking someone for access to their land out near a lake? I knew a guy near Yarmouth years ago that let a group of my friends who went 4 wheeling clear a nice spot out to camp at and let them clear out some roads to the lake. Lots of lakes around, and who owns the land on them isn't hard to find as a trip to the Lawrencetown land office is a quick run, a few bucks to get in and you can find out the current owner in a jiffy. Just tossing ideas out there, as I said I have yet to go on a Jamboree (or officially join the club) but an idea is an idea I was wondering if the Jamboree has any official sponsors (I think I've seen the word rolled around in here a few times). Maybe have a few people that are decent at filming and camera work do their magic and have a DVD made (if this isn't already done), order copies of it from someone who has the ability to make it. When the trails are being cleared set up a few trail cams at choice spots then pick them up as the last person goes by. Using private land to camp for that many people is a problem shower, toilet and the cleanup afterward is a big job, lots of hidden expanse there. Organizing activities for kids is parents responsibility, we have to much on our plate with trails, RTI and Mud Pit, lots of good comment there

John Cranfield didn't give his "Gentlemen, start your engines" speach at the 1st drivers meeting. We missed hearing it. X2

How come you wont post a rundown on what exactly does it cost to put on the Jeep Jam? Once you justifie where the $30,000+ goes it should show people why it costs what it costs.

First and foremost the Financial statement will be disclose at the AGM to the membership of each chapter, it would be a breach of trust to do so on the board. Second this thread is about what would you change and making suggestion we accept all comment, this is not question period that is reserve for the AGM. My reference to the aforementioned figure was that the mathematical equation was right 150 x 200 = 30000 math test pass. Kindest Regard Luc

Yes I understand always want more for less. And I thought the club put on jam.I read members saying they'd like to see the price lowered so maybe the hole club could look for donations. A club I'm in when we do our race we ask all members to get donations.Or what they can get donated. And we get
back-hoes dossers generators tow trucks tractors gators pop & water bush hog cub van sh*tters
Because out of our 25 members someone knows someone.Somethings we have to pay for and they make a donation back so it looks good in their books. Don't take me wrong your committee does a great job and I know it's hard to get people to step up. If $200 or more is what it takes per person to make it happen then that is what it is.I may go some where down the road. But I don't see my family going.

Oh what about moving the Jam around to different spots in the province? There are lots of trails around that could be used.

My budget permits me 2 event this year, so I wont be able to go to the week end of wheeling, because I want to go to the NBJC fall crawl in Moncton, another member stated on another post he chose the valley crawl over jam a personal choice. I respect that Kindest Regard Luc

Lots of talk about money on here and who can and can't afford what. I have been able to and probably will continue to be able to afford the Jam. Others may not, that may be a private issue but it doesn't mean we shouldn't have empathy for our fellow Jeepers who would like to join in but can't.
This thread is about improving the Jam in the future and I believe that cost is in fact one way that the Jam can be improved. By making the Jam more accesible to all Jeepers the event will be improved and more self sustaining through better attendance.
I don't think that lowering the price for an individual is the way to do that. However, setting family or "Jeep load" pricing would be great. Discounts for groups of people don't have to be large, small amounts would attract people because they think they are getting a deal, and they would be.
The Jam is a blast, let's make it more affordable to our friends and families.

Being on the committee many times in the past and heading up the first NSJC Jamboree I find this quite funny. SO many have opinions and ideas but when push comes to shove a very select few come out and actually do the work to make this event happen. It is very hard to take criticism for some people and to have it directed to them for years and still do the job for FREE takes a lot. To also take the criticism and or ideas and have no new people come to the ate and actually do some work disheartening. I know it was for me. I gave everything when I was part if the committee and wish I was still part of it. But i cannot at the present time. The NSJC Jamboree is not just a party but was supposed to be way we could raise funds to secure lands for future use. Because we all know the day will come where we will be fined for travelling on some of the lands we do now. If "you" want change then show up and do the work to make those changes happen. My two cents. O and it us hard to type this crap on the iPhone. So sorry if I messed up some spelling or grammar. Hehe
