Anyone got a lead on a 350? 454 maybe? Not quite as plentiful, but nothing says hauling like a BB Chevy. Should bolt right in there. Someone I knew years ago hauled a race car in an enclosed trailer with an older style motorhome. Can't remember the mileage numbers, but he got better mileage with a 454 in it than with a 350, probably something like 10mpg versus 8mpg. He had the throttle to the floor all the time with the 350. The Bigblock hauled the load no problem.

Anyone got a lead on a 350? Hey Jan I have a buddy that has a garage/shop full of built SBC s and the odd BBC s and a couple of 426 hemis. Decide on which route you want to go and I'll see what he'll sell and for how much. Let me know how much hp you want so I can ask for the right engine. Oh you cant buy the 1700hp Big Block unless you buy the 6 sec Pro Mod Vette it sits in.

I flaked off from work for a bit tonight, and went to my buddy Devin's place to look at his '50 International cab resto some more, and to look at his built 454 Chevelle. Being a Chev guy, he informed me the SM4xx bell in the 2wd donor dually chassis is not 'just' SBC as i thought, it will also accept a 454. Nice. Thank you Chevy. I'm sure this is common knowledge of mouthbreathers everywhere, but I'm not a Chevy guy. Soon to be, I guess. Ack! Oh wait, my black pickup! Double Ack!
That $1500 93ish 454 4x4 shorty for sale in Enfield was sold to the guy i bought the dually from, so.....one link down, more searching to go.

Budget isn't there for modded motors, I don't think. I won't be spending $1000 total running on a motor. maybe an RV cam and headers. 454 would be nice, find a good stocker, option is open now. I'll give him a free sticker. lol

I think the 6.2 and 6.5 diesels are the same bolt pattern too.

Hook a brother up! I saw some kijiji links that scared me, they look heavy! lol lots of cheap International schoolbus's. $1500 in Liverpool with an auto. halifax.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-other-SCHOOL-BUS-TO-SELL-DIESEL-MOTOR-W0QQAdIdZ302299235couple of ads for 12v cummins, couple for 24V, with computer and all that for $1500. I think i'll just stick with what bolts into the dually chassis for now. maybe diesel in the future. The 'International' aspect of getting a BIG diesel in there is very appealing to go all out on this thing. I'd put it midship. i don't think i'm ready for that, i want to have this thing done by Xmas. Then winter inside, hovering over a rockcrawler chassis. THAT plan is a year late., but I have all my parts. Winter. This truck thing will be outside in the yard, might as well do it now, because the rock chassis that never was, obviously isn't going to be done for Valley Crawl, so a few more months won't hurt i guess. Can't wait to get off work this week, then Green Goblin Car Show in Canning for the weekend!!! Wish the COE was ready! Next year...next year.....

I still got my Super Bee tattoo! lol ps: If I had not sold my stupid Winnebago last fall I'd be big block Dodge on THAT chassis, they are long and flat, and have the vertical steering box, etc. Who really thought any of that would ever useful? Except if you bought an old cabover from the '50's. FML. I'm too embarrassed to call the guy back and ask him to sell it back to me. ;D BA and the neighbors seeing that being towed back into town ;D

Been working at getting the L180 project settled in at home, it required some ground work to keep my place from looking like a junkyard. making a parking spot a YJ! neato! drag it out new parking, gotta move axle rack and drivetrain pallets to rear of shop, and park camper to the right. workin that Chev, up the pit behind the house, i'm allowed to dump clean stuff. behind shop, sans Scott's wood. International is further down back. My property is L shaped, house up at the road, and the L goes from behind the shop, behind my road-neighbor's back line. There is a nice lawn back there and the neighbor's 87yo neighbor has a garden he furrows and stuff with his........restored International tractor! heh. organizing steel i got from Luc's rink reno's a couple of years ago. Jeep crane rears its ugly head. Couldn't do it without it. Wake up one day, and there is a parking pad, gravel spread, and my COE in parked on it. Yard Fairies? More neighbor awesomeness? Did i ever mention my neighbor Kenny is awesome? Can't see it from road, driveway, or house. Had to open the snout for a peek inside, first time.... Man, you can eat off it! some clean. 6 volt positive ground. That's gotta go. i don't even recognize what the components are. oil bath aircleaner, thats neat. Chassis donor 1ton with hydroboost Iron Chev 4speed. 16" wheels, can make 'em look retro 3.73 14bolt dually in the rear, in combo with the bull low 4speed, should give an OK cruise, and grunt to get moving. Pretty stout stuff. good brakes and e-cables and all that. This truck had been running, it got stripped out quickly, hasn't been sitting around. took vertical steering components off a cube van, got the box, intermediate shaft, and centerlink, looks like it will swap onto the truck chassis without a whole bunch of problems. Removing cab from donor chassis here now, PO kept the box.
