I might have come across a few 2100-2150's on my fathers old Ford pickups Going to get him to check them out when he gets home, going to rebuild one of they are teh right ones and do the same. Won't be as good as Gronk's though.

Years ago a common carb swap was to use a carb from the 304 / 345 IH scouts on the CJ's. Not sure if this would work for the YJ's

The added bonus of a custom emissions package seems a winner as it seems only a matter of time before the wanky politicians jump on the political bandwagon of tail pipe emissions testing as they have done in Ontario. The emissions test is only in southern and eastern Ontario due to the high population of motorists down there. My mother lives in Elliot Lake (Northern Ontario and the location of the mall collapse) and they don't have the emissions test up there.

Prepare fot it --Politicions are always looking for those "good feeling" promotional topics to include in their campain pack of bull. Green is the hottest topic on earth right now. If I had a "beater"rig that was strickly a fun toy to tear up and in two years it didn't pass the next safety test, no big deal. However if like me you have an older rig and you wish to keep that rig for say 10yrs or more--- It might be a good idea to pay attention to maintaining an emission control system. I'm an old school mechanic, too old to learn how to trouble shoot and maintain the modern computer controlled spaceships, thus i'm locked into and feel comfortable with the model T technology. I'm not saying the tail pipe testing will happen tomorrow but the odds are it is on the visible horizon.

So what modifications did the carb come with?

So far as I can tell it was re jetted, and came supplied with a custom bracket to allow an unmodified connection to the jeeps stock accelerator cable. Other than that unless it's a unique modification they wish to keep confidential thats about it for disclosure. One unique item was their custom adaptor plate which looks like it has been ported and polished in some manner. The new emissions setup is very impressive and allows you to literally tear out 90% of the stock vacuum hoses and weird bits and pieces to be replaced by what seems a well thought out and fairley simple newely engineered system. This new emission control system is suppose to be far superior to the origional and has been tested and passed California specs. The other very very impressive part of this package is the pages and pages of instructions and photos of the "how to" tear out the old and install the new. It will be possibly another month before I install this kit plus alot of other work on the rig. I am presently gathering about $2000 to $3000 worth of parts--Stainless brake lines-- Fuel lines-- a new winch--a custom snow plow frame-- a custom CB and Ham comm. system--a custom zip on dacron canvas tent that attaches to the rear -- and a bunch more stuff that will allow me wilderness travel and camping on the Island of Newfoundland as well as Labrador. I'm more into wilderness logging road travel than trail mud and guts stuff however I have no doubt some of you guys could show me how to access the rougher country. As I prev. posted I will post all my work both for info out as well as ideas in.---Geo.

My dad picked up a pretty good condition Motorcraft 2150, still sitting in CB until the end of August. Not all the goodies you got with it but I can make it work Any idea what adapter plate goes with it?

It's one he has custom machined for his kits. I will take a look at it in the next few days and see if it has a manufacturers name and get back to you. A big part of this replacement package is a new emissions control system. It will be a pleasure to rip out all those vacuum lines and do flickies that go with them.

I've been emailing him a bit, I think that his adapter is a big part of his fix. He told me that he doesn't do much to the actual carb except a few adjustments and replacement jets.

Thats the drift i got re his carb mods. The engineering of the adaptor plate is highlighted. The replacement of the nightmare jungle of emissions control vacuum hoses and carb. computer with an engineered set up was a big part of the appeal to me. This will possibly the only and last Jeep I will own and as such any future emissions testing must pass. I was very impressed with the technical and personal backup he provides. Certainly surpasses any vehicle or product warranty I purchased in the last 50 yrs. Todays automotive companies are nothing but leaches toward their customers . The best $300.00 plus dollard I've spent in a long long time.

No -- I only bought this machine a few months ago prior to that had a 84 cj7. I'm in the process of getting all the basic systems in 100% working order. Just received my stainless brake lines, rear wheel cylinders, hood latches, oil and temp. sending units, and a bunch more stuff. The idea is to take her off the road for a week and do the carb kit and replace these items. I am amoung other things a licenced carpenter and replacing the windows, doors and siding at my sons house. He is a licenced mechanic bar none so it's the barter system at work. My next years wish list is an overhead hoist. Wish I had it for this upcoming work-- Are you military stationed in Greenwood ? --Geo.

I sure am. I've been doing fix by fix to it, slowly but surely. Eventually I'll have it ready for a bit of lighter off roading.

Hi all, I dug a little to find the package for the adapter I got, I put it on my 258 CJ7, took the carter off and put this on with the 2100 off a Ford V8. It says, TD performance, universal 2BBL carb adapter#2086, adapts large holley2BBL carb to Roch 4Bolts 2BBL base. I had to mod up a new throttle cable set up, a little work but nothing difficult.
