I was stationed there in the 60's, 404 sq. argus radar air. In the hangers across the runway. 404 and 405 were over there. I recall alot of snow in those days. Anyhow looks like you've found a source for the adaptor plate -- Geo.

Stationed here back in the 60s? Cool, bet the base was a bit smaller at that point.
Wonder if the part # 7354701 from NAPA would work for me.

I'm going to give them a call Monday. See if they can help.

It's a Mr. Gasket part, so I'd be surprised it NAPA had it in the local system. Pecks, APJ, CVO or even CT could all get it for you though.

Was going to start getting these parts to install the carb, but before I do is rebuilding it a good idea? Doesn't look in too bad of a condition. I can get the kit / jets and the whole carbless kit from the supplier to install it all into my vehicle for $150. It's $125 without the rebuild kit/jets. Seems not too bad a deal since the only rebuild kits I can find "might" work with the carb, and cost $60+

Whoops, kind of forgot a bit.
The standard kit comes with what I listed above, minus the rebuild kit and jets. The carb I have is off of a 1978 AMC 360 motor, looks to be all original (motorcraft 2100 that AMC used). Essentially I'm asking if I should rebuild, or leave it how it is, install it and drive. The carb looks like it was rebuilt at one point, painted and used. The gaskets are't brittle and still have a bit of flex (not sure if old gaskets retain flexibility or loose it).
Any solid advice? Buy the bare minimum, or bite the bullet and get it all and rebuild?

My $0.02 is always rebuild if you have the chance. There's no better way to -KNOW- that everything is fresh and you have a clean slate for tuning than if you've done it yourself. For $25, that's a cheap rebuild kit. Worth asking what comes in the kit to be sure its a proper one and not a quick cheapie. I've used both types in the past, and the $60 kit was always better for completenes and quality of parts.

This kit comes from a highly recommended rebuilder of the Motorcraft carbs.

When I do the tally of his prices, he seems to want alot for the carbless kit as opposed to just getting the rebuild kit, adapter and jets. Anyone can bend a few pieces of metal and drill a hole.
Going to pop the top off the carb, take a look at what will need replacing before I place an order.

Well, I installed my Motorcraft today (along with replacing my leaking valve cover). First time for both, woot.
Without tweaking, after rebuilding, the car runs so much better. I took it out for a 10 minute test run and it runs great. Still need to cap off a few things, figure out where my choke hooks up to on the manifold because it's heat actuated (something like that), and it still needs tweaking plus checking the TDC.
After running it a bit more tomorrow at higher speeds I'll be able to give a bit more feedback.

It is totally awesome. When I hammer down I actually get quite a bang out of it for acceleration, something I'm *NOT* used to lol. Almost got pinned by the MP's going across the way today from work. Wasn't expecting it. It also starts VERY nicely now, just tap the pedal a few times and vroom, starts and idles, even 1st thing in the morning (Carter never did this, period).
Still have yet to tune it a tad, might pop on the electric choke from my Carter once I get it off and clean it up a tad. Can't seem to find the place on my 258 where the choke hooks to the manifold/exhaust.
