It's a little light on the chrome. Good little radio. Had one a few years back.

I'm just looking for something that does the job on the trails. Nothing fancy or expensive.

Jeff and the Springhill gang use these fancy little family wireless radios. Very cool. I think they are better than CB myself. Never used them before my Springhill trip in January

I bought a Cobra 75 WX ST with everything in the handpiece but am considering a portable unit for some of the same reasons Jeff uses the little walkie-talkie radios. Plus, I can't find a clear spot in my WK to mount the clip for the handset.

We considered those as well, but they don't work on the same frequency as a CB, so you still kind of need a CB unless the WHOLE club switches over

It's a good little radio. short on features but the size of it makes it easier to find places to mount it in a TJ. Passenger side of the center console, closest to under the dash is where I put mine and wasn't in the way. (roll seat forward to check before drilling!)

I have that radio and it works fine. As stated it does not have a lot of features, but in my case it was not a concern. Use it mainly for trial rides and for sh!ts & giggles while on the highway. The most important part of any CB set-up is the antenna as tehy are all limited to 4 watts.
It's nice, compact & easy to use, I have no regrets and would purchase it again if I had a choice to go back.

Any of the above radios are greart for the trail convoys that I assume is close range talking. There is a nice llittle uniden 510 XL for sale in Kijiji right now in Dartmouth. I have its bigger brother ( 520 XL) to go in my jeep.
