Yup, all three maritime provinces have a reciprosity agreement to recognize inspection stickers from the other provinces. You should have had more than ten days. I think I had until the sticker from NB expired to get it reinspected, not just 10 days.
Say that word 3 times real fast: reciprosity , reciprosity , reciprosity ;D

I probably have something incorrect in the post at the top of this page. From the last link I posted, it says " The original inspection station may not charge an additional inspection fee for re-inspection of rejected items. " Not actually sure now how the billing goes for the original inspection. Basically you are paying for their time to inspect the vehicle, right? Don't want to upset any mechanics on here. I just want to get all of this straight as well. I will definitely have the manual in hand while going over my truck before I take it back in for inspection.

I think mechanic's lien is for if you do not pay the mechanic for the parts or services provided, then they hold your vehicle until you pay, or sell the vehicle to pay for the bill. I think court is involved for that though.
I read the MV Regs, and I don't think you actually pay for the inspection, it is the approval sticker you pay for technically. I don't believe you even pay for a rejection sticker, nor do you have to bring it back to the same garage for reinspection of the failed items. The link for the inspection manual was posted on here somewhere, I printed out a copy, and it is really good reading.
The best defense against a ' misinformed ' mechanic is to print out the regs and have them with you at the station so you can point out the error of their ways. Information is power.
But the word ' ballistic ' does come to mind at the thought of someone trying to impound my vehicle.

Why would you want to sell it? That is a nice looking jeep. BTW, CJ's ended their run in 86, YJ's started in 87. I have no suggestions on asking price. But nice jeep.

If you want to stop by sometime on the weekend, I can see what I can do, since our postal code seems to be close. I don't have a torch, but I do have a grinder and some cutting discs. Hopefully they are not captive nuts inside the frame.

I am sure that if the z-bar is bolt on, it could be flipped over to raise the rack. Or the picture is just wrong. If you had the rear rack off of a 4 wheeler and a piece of 2" square tubing, one of those would be easy to make.

I went to the cenb website, and I see that Dave Hoar's company, Motion Design, is not listed there. Is he not certifying vehicles for the province anymore? Or is this something new from the province, or is he just not a memeber of cenb? Just curious. Thanks, Wayne OH, and Ballistic would probably cover my reaction to a letter like that? Like you keep saying Steve, a person only has to have a vehicle pass inspection, not a certification. So if a person has a copy of their province's Motor Vehicle Inspection Book and makes sure the vehicle conforms to that, they should be all right. Someone posted on this site the link to the NS one and I printed out a copy for myself. Very interesting reading. e.g. your rear window wiper motor does NOT have to work to pass inspection here in NS.

The 315 x 75R x 16 I have as a spare measures approx 34.5 inches in diameter. Go metric. It is more or less a 35, but at least it doesn't say it on the sidewall.

I haven't had time to read it YET, but I assume if a vehicle comes from the factory with 35's, then it is okay. OEM's know more than the general public, right? Do you think it would be stretching it if I bought 35" Hummer rims and tires, put them on my truck, and called them "factory" tires ?? A lot of people on that committee from the US ?

Just noticed an add for 2004 TJ from a dealer. 52,000 on it, A/C, auto, TJ sport, Asking $22,000.
I think they will have to do a lot better on the price when a new one can be had for $23K, with better options.
They list BFG long trails as 'off road tires' ;D

if you are going to sell something the least you can do is research and learn about it - especially something worth 20-40k Yes, but when the demand is high enough, and the vehicles practically sell themselves without the salesmen knowing SFA about them, they won't bother. As long as they are making their commission. Only once they actually have a hard time selling them would they have to do some work and learn something about them. You know, a smart move for a jeep dealer would be to hire some knowledgeable people off of this board to sell jeeps for them.

Don't quote me on the price, but I think 9/16" studs from GM for a 14 bolt are about $10 EACH. A friend of mine had to buy some, and he couldn't find them anywhere but the dealer. This was a couple of years ago though, and not sure how hard he looked.
But if you are having the adapters made anyway, you can always just have it made to take a standard 1/2" stud instead of the 9/16" ones. Plus, some 1/2 ton chev studs have a pretty big body on them where they press into the flange. I am sure NAPA or Parts for Trucks should have a big selection in stock that you could look through and find a size that is right, or at least a catalogue with measurements.
Check with the suppliers for the semi truck wheel studs. They will have sizes from 1/2 inch up to 3/4 that are threaded on both ends. You could thread the holes in the adapter, and loctite the studs into it. Just an option. If they can hold semi rims on that way, it should hold the rims onto your little yj. Just a thought. They are not expensive either.
