Our plan is to go down and we'd love to meet up and do some wheeling - preferably somewhere between Sydney area and Margaree - anything near Baddeck or near Kelly's Mountain?
Looking forward to meeting you Caper if we do end up getting together.

go in at seal island campground and just drive past scout camp and keep going.
there is a trail up powerlines that I didn't check out any further than the entrance hill climb past guywires.
it comes out on big harbour rd then to transcanada.
you can do the main rd in a car in the summer.

Rowland and I are planning a run on Easter Saturday. We are meeting at the C.B. Shopping Plaza Tim Horton's and plan to LEAVE for the trail by 8:30 AM. Originally we were going to continue our trail scouting in the St. Anns-Baddeck area, but this may be snow depth dependent so we may just run one of our regular trails.
The New Harris road is a bit challenging in winter, but no problem in summer. It does have a No Exit/ Road Closed sign that is fun to drive by. However, the pole line that crosses over the mountain off this road is a nice trail for Jeep-related purposes.

Unfortunately we have to head back to Halifax on Sunday - I have to work on Monday so I don't know if we'll be able to get out on Sunday to do any wheeling but if anyone's available on Saturday, let me know here by Thursday night. I will give anyone our cell numbers and we can hook up. We will definitely be going somewhere so it would be fun to get some Jeeps together.

Ok...I replied to this toooo early this morning. If you guys are going on Easter SATURDAY, count us in. We'll have to be home in Margaree for supper (TURKEY DINNER) but we'll meet you there at 8:30am - no problem. Just confirm by Thursday night so that we don't make the trip for nothing. Looking forward to it!!! Heather & Jamie

It looks like we're going to have a good turnout Saturday! Hopefully the trails will open up a bit this week.
Mike, I don't have your cell number. Is that e-mail address in your profile functional?
Saturday is the only day I have free during Easter weekend, since Friday is for travelling.
