Nice job on the winchplate. How do you plan to mount it on your Jeep's frame? Also where do you plan to mount the winch's control box? I was in a rush to set mine up so I strapped mine to the winch motor with a couple of pipe clamps however I have plans to mount it beneath the hood. I know they're water resistant but I'd still like to keep it out of the mud. For about $75 you can get a "jacket" for the winch. Though I don't think you need to upgrade your Jeep's alternator I think its necessary to get a larger battery. Can anybody experienced in winches pls add their "two cents"? I didn't listen to advice that was given to me about my new winch. I was warned not to use it for the first time on the trail. Apparently you should unspool the entire length and carefully wind it up evenly. I didn't . Now I have a knarled section of cable on the spool. Oh well, live & learn...

Winch plate, winch and solenoid are installed on the jeep. I used the four tow hook locations to mount the plate through the frame. May add two more - replacing the front of the sway bar bolts. Mounted the solenoid to the second grill slot - passenger side. Completed!

Also pick up a rubber antenna before Wade's goat paths broke the steel one.
