LOL Mud truck Yeah, I'm hoping it does Mike, it wasn't really bought as a tow rig as much as a camper but it will only be for the odd trip to the Valley...It has a good strong 360 with only 115,000 miles...What do you guys think, will she pull my Jeep or is she gonna struggle?? Jeff She is probably gonna be hurtin, sepecially on the long hills. Expect about 5MPG Love the rig though ;D 360 Truck 360 Truck engine configurations and applications [show] The 360, of 360.7 cu in (5.9 L) actual displacement, was introduced in 1968 and phased out at the end of the 1976 year run; it was used in the Ford F Series trucks and pickups. It has a bore of a 390 (4.05 inches (102.87 mm)) and used the 352's 3.5 inches (88.90 mm) rotating assembly. 360s were also constructed with heavy duty internal components for truck use. Use of a standard 352/390 cam for use in passenger cars along with carburetor and distributor adjustment allowed the 360 to give performance similar to that of the 352 and 390 car engines. Rated at 215 bhp (160.3 kW) at 4200 rpm and 375 lb·ft (508 N·m) of torque @3600 rpm (2-barrel carb, 1968). The 360 used the same block, heads and other parts as a 390, this makes them indistinguishable from each other unless the stroke is measured. IF in the future, WAAAAAAY in the future (lol), Jeff needed more power to pull his Jeep, a friend of his in the States suggested this: "Get a 390 crank and get it bored .030 over..... or 390 heads, cam and 428 crankshaft. 360 and 390 shared the same block. You would then have a 410 stroker."

Her daughter posted it on a local buy and sell group on FB and when it popped up on my screen I almost fell down the stairs running to tell Jeff about it. lol

Whoa, that old Ford is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
This is like a Crocodile Dundee moment - "That's not a tow rig...THIS is a towrig!" ;D ;D ;D
Can't wait for inside pics.
Towing - you will be slow, and use lots of gas. But it will probably be relatively effortless off the main 100 series highways. like the #1 in the Valley or whatnot.
Those trucks weren't meant to do 120km/h down the highway, its prob got 4.10's in it for lugging, and it doesn't have overdrive. Slow top speed. She got front dics brakes?
Wind KILLS your milage and speed with the camper - for reference, my camper weights 1/2 what my car trailer/jeep weighs, but it burns more fuel to pull it.
you'll need to go over the ignition, make sure it doesn't have points, and be in tip top shape to drive. Those old trucks with a poor running engine, you can decrese milage x3. $100's to get somewhere. The carb will drink it all, and puke it out the back unburned. Not like fuel injection! If it has points, read up on electronic ignition swap, it usually bolts in. Maybe in the future, TBI injection sawp.
wicked awesome! lol Its so, ...so.......brown! ;D
congrats!
