Whoa, that old Ford is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! This is like a Crocodile Dundee moment - "That's not a tow rig...THIS is a towrig!" ;D ;D ;D Can't wait for inside pics. Towing - you will be slow, and use lots of gas. But it will probably be relatively effortless off the main 100 series highways. like the #1 in the Valley or whatnot. Those trucks weren't meant to do 120km/h down the highway, its prob got 4.10's in it for lugging, and it doesn't have overdrive. Slow top speed. She got front dics brakes? Wind KILLS your milage and speed with the camper - for reference, my camper weights 1/2 what my car trailer/jeep weighs, but it burns more fuel to pull it. you'll need to go over the ignition, make sure it doesn't have points, and be in tip top shape to drive. Those old trucks with a poor running engine, you can decrese milage x3. $100's to get somewhere. The carb will drink it all, and puke it out the back unburned. Not like fuel injection! If it has points, read up on electronic ignition swap, it usually bolts in. Maybe in the future, TBI injection sawp. wicked awesome! lol Its so, ...so.......brown! ;D congrats! Thanks Jan! lol @ Crocodile Dundee moment! To answer your questions, yes I believe it has 4.10's (I had a peek at the owner's manual). It's rear end is a Dana 70. It does have disk brakes in the front, and we've even got a spare set of new pads for it. The old couple told us the same thing you just did about speed - the old truck was not made to go 100+ on the highway. They said the best hwy speed for the best mileage was 80km/hr. The gas gauge doesn't work any more so she kept track of the mileage, and said it got about 11mpg on the hwy. My Jeep gets 12mpg. lol My Jeep can just barely make it to the valley from here on one tank of gas (and that's if there's no wind). I don't know anything about the ignition and Jeff probably doesn't either. I hope there are mechanics around here who still know the old school stuff. Yeah it's very brown, lol, or more like copper actually. Oh well! It's very brown inside too - dark wood on the cabinets, dark brown cushions, very retro 70's. But it's very clean, smells good, and everything works. Walking into that was like stepping back into my childhood - lol. Flashback to the 70's for sure. The table reminded me of a table my family had when I was young - you know, pea green with metal trim. Jeff is at DMV right now getting it registered. We'll go pick it up when I get off work tonight. I'll get interior pics tomorrow as it will be dark when we get back here with it. Here is a vid of Jeff starting it and testing driving it: www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150243141376431Can't wait to get this thing even though we probably can't afford to drive it anywhere! haha Cindy

Congrats Cindy and Jeff. Cindy you mentioned about redecorating the interior, wouldn't it be more nostalgic leaving the tacky but tastefull 70's era interior for just that, come on in and step back in time feeling? All you need to do is get a couple of them lava lamps and your all set to go.
Nice find by the way, I love it. Darren

Jeff and Cindy, a friend of mine owns and works on old cars here in Truro and is a whiz at the old stuff. If you need anything call Barry Weatherbee at Weatherbee Glass and Auto. Mostly works on older vehicles and does some restorations.
I love the RRV!

Thanks guys!
Darren I see your point and I do want to keep a lot of the 70's style there...I just want to freshen it up a bit. Like the curtains and cushions are really faded and she had put mac tack up here and there, so I want to do some freshening up but leave a lot of the 70's style alone - like the retro countertops and dark cupboards. They remind me of my childhood! ;D

If he doesn't know anything about he he'll know someone who does.

I think one's enough Enos! lol That one still has the single bunk over the dinette. Ours was removed as they didn't need it and found it more cramped feeling. That one's $800 cheaper than what we paid too - but to drive out there and get it and drive it home would cost more than $800! Alberta is where these campers came from. They were manufactured by a company called Pre-Built Mfg. in Lethbridge, Alberta, then sent to RV dealers to be sold. Ours was sold by Canadian Leisure Travel in Calgary, and it's still in business today. We had quite a thunder and lightening storm this morning and very heavy rain. Good test to see if the RV leaks anywhere. Glad to report it survived that storm with no sign of any leaks at all. Cindy

Been looking for a truck for a while now....waiting for the circumstances and the right one. Finally picked this up a few weekends ago for a smoking deal I couldn't resist! Body and frame wise it's in really good shape, only rust is above the rear wheel wells. No rust on the rockers, no rust on the doors, just the usual light flake on the frame and nothing on the floor. Really clean interior too, no rips or tears of the fabric, no stains, carpet is clean and in good shape. So, the specs. 2002 Dodge quad cab sport 4wd, 4.7L auto, pretty much loaded.......A/C, P heater mirrors, cruise, atuo diming rear view mirror, fog lights, overhead console with storage and driving info center, P windows and locks, factory towing package (which includes class 4 hitch with 7 way trailer connector, HD engine rad, P/S cooler, large tranny cooler, HD shcoks and rear springs), under seat rear storage, cargo light, factory tinted windows, 17" aluminum rims....everything works too. My primary use is for towing the CJ when I need to....don't really expect to be doing it a lot....the CJ is close to a wheeling only rig.....and might be there when the new MVI regs come out. I still have the Saturn for my daily driver and mileage. I will be lifting it and then regearing it at some point...I know, not great for towing but I don't really give a shit. lol

Manual shift T-case is a nice feature, and rare on newer trucks.
