these have some crazy beefy axles. these particular models, same as the ones dad and I have, have front and rear 9 5/8" ring gears. they are built in the same manor ar a Toy axle or a 9", with the carrier and pinion that bolt to the housing.
the big thing to worry about with these trucks are the engines. they had so many different engine selections to deal with, all close to the same size, but just different displacements.

Hi Nice looking trucks, My father has 3 M152's radio recon and 1 m37, They are definatly tough old trucks. I have been around them my whole life. The differentials are definatly tough but the long axle on the left hand rear IS A WEAK POINT. If you are considering building a crawler you should consider and axle swap aswell.
Congrats on your purchases and good luck with the restoration

What a terrific find!
You are some lucky to be able to get them in such good shape.

Yep, I would roll in one of those ;D You look like you need more room, send 1 down to NS and I'll "store" it for you also, I'm digging the Log Stacks: This just could be the new truxs!

The log stacks are a fire wood rack, note the ones at the back of the truck are angled out to carry extra wood(greedy boards for the woods)

Awesome.
In the first series of pics, what is the little box with 3 switches on the dash to the right of the steering wheel. One is marked 'unlock'?
