Awesome. In the first series of pics, what is the little box with 3 switches on the dash to the right of the steering wheel. One is marked 'unlock'? Like already said, its the light switch. The 'unlock' allows you to switch it over to black out drive.....which can get interesting to say the least..LOL. ;D

That way someone dont accidently switch on the service lights during a blackout. Giving a bomber a perfect target

found some tire today will have them tomorow and post pics, also i found out how to turn the ligth on, quite the procedure when you dont know, did a lot of reading in the service manual and found out most of everything on it is rebuildable and some stuff on it has oil in it the newer car would not, so i got lot of tear down and checking to do on it

the light "switch" is very similar to that of the M38 and M38-A1 Jeeps. they used the same style block, but a little more rounded. definately not the easiest thing to figure out on the spot.
as a matter of fact, just at quick glance, that entire centre panel with the volt meter, oil, engine temp, and other gauges, looks to be identical to the panel on our M38-A1. neat.

the rest of the day i finished a floor in a yj and i checked the gear installed in a rubi last week

just thought I should mention, Paul, if those trucks are keeping their original-style wiring, the first thing you want to do before running them much is to buy a whole new wiring harness, before you burn the trucks up. age wasn't kind to those harnesses, the insulation will fall right off of them.

well today i took a trip in time to get some parts to get me going, the plan is to get both engine running like a song in the 54 and 55, then put the 54 up for sale to provide money to buff up the 55, bougth a new gaz pump all of the flexible brake line that where packaged in 64 but are still brand new, and some rubber for the ends of the shocks, changed the fuel pump on the 55 but it is still stutering so tomorow i plan on taking the carb appart and cleaning it , and i will put a good pump on the 54 too it is amazing how few tool was needed to replace the pump, even the bolt holding it in place where longer to get the removal faster , took about 15 min to swap them lol any how here are some pics new parts the long bolt holding the pump and the few tool needed to replace it old pump new shiny pump 60 years old!!! also some pic of the kids in it , they love driving in it my oldest pretending to drive... and me giving them a ride
