I had to take a break from Jeeps and work on the shop some. Back wall was rotten and leaking. old red paint was faded to pink, unsealed chipboard.
Preparing to kill.
giant wasp nest to be destroyed b4 starting...
DIE!
I didn't post these pics as an in-progress thread, with the open air shop and all.
completely ripped out the back wall.
with help from the neighbors, got a new wall framed and installed in a day.
The garage is built with full-dimension lumber from the sawmill up the road. It sure would be easier to use the same stuff to rebuild....Scott just happened to have a couple of acres of hurricane fall milled up and stored 20' away from the wall. how could we not use a few lengths of it? ;D Thanks man!
closed in the the night.
added a window (neighbors old kitchen window) and the box fan
Tdogg did my electrical, had lots of help when i needed it.
all painted up and ready to go.
returning a favor for the neighbors. Had to hustle up a big ass ladder to check out the liner....too big a job, bust out the Autocar Construcktor.
making spark guards for the drywall/floor seam
ripping up galvanized door to use. free steel from RallyRoach, thx man.
helper dog is curious and aggressive towards rotating objects. ATTACK!
came out great.
some paint....what do you think of the color? heh heh
200% improvement.
the new wall
funky door
JeepCrane approved.
Thanks to BA, Alan, Dirt, Kenny, Brenda for the ribs, TDog for electrical and Peter for insulation and interior trim work. Scott for lumber.
I could not have gotten this done without the help. Ready for winter!
