the only time i'd see an issue there scott, is if your running the hoist, the welder cranked hard up, and the heat on.... we had 3 lathes, 3 welders, 3 drill presses, a hoist, about 24 lights, electric heat on in the office, a large bandsaw (30") a cut off, power hacksaw, shaper, 5hp air compressor, and many, many hand tools. at one point, there was 3 of us there working full time, and never once did we blow a fuse, or pop a breaker. the only time we had an issue, was is someone was welding, and the bandsaw was started, it would drop your heat on you.... i don't think you'd have an issue running your shop off a single 100 amp entrance. the shop we're in now, is on a 100 amp service and costs about $40-50 / month for power, with 2 of us, working 40 hours a week, plus hobby use on the weekends check on the cost of a 150 amp service, compaired to a 100 amp service. seems to me, our basic charge is about $15-20/ month Size of residential service doesn't matter, it's just upfront cost, so no big deal. If it gets considered commercial, which I hope it doesn't, it will have a demand meter and cost a lot more per month. I think the basic charge is about $20-25 every 2 months for residential. Make sure they know it's just a garage, not a business. A commercial demand meter measures peak use, and charges a premium on top of the base charge and kwh use.

Jan will be happy . The shed is gonna stay , for this year anyways . I have another consultation booked with nsp . I am gonna push the garage back another 50 or so ft at a cost of approximately $1000 for another pole and wire . So now there is no rush to take down the old barn , even tho I dropped 3 trees on it lol
Jan. You can move this to shop and garage . I will be taking lots of pics of the garage build
Excavator will be coming home next weekend to start the foundation ;D

You've got so much room to push the shop back the way the property lays. Yup, I'm glad you were convinced, I didn't think you would change you mind. My shop is about as far away from the house as your new one will be, its kinda nice to have them seperated. unless you need to poopie
