I would not use the rear bracket. Put a mount in the frame then your spring would be flat. Make your shackle straightwith no weight on them. This way they will be leaned back with the weight of the trailer on them.

Did you look at my trailer build ? mine is spring over with 35's and i have the tongue , mounted above the front "A" frame

Well, that's a fail. Tried it with cardboard and ended up with 29" between the framerails instead of 34". Back to the drawing board.

You'll want to make the center cut like this, V not like this V so your angles line up correctly.

so your angles line up correctly. Do you mean so that the ends meet up once folded?... so I'd cut .6" both sides of center. 3.5 & 1.2 seem to work.

I don't know what you're using to figure that out, I would use this and a protractor. ostermiller.org/calc/triangle.htmlPlug in 38" at the bottom and 36" at the sides and go by the outside dimensions. And what doesn't the internet have these days...printable protractor www.ossmann.com/protractor/conventional-protractor.pdf

a little more mock up yesterday as baby was napping; it's missing the front crossmember... and I was thinking of adding some gussets like this; the tongue's going to be frenched into the frame... I figure 3 sides welded is much better then 1. Especially with me being a rookie. Keep in mind that this is the lower frame. This is going to support the frame that's already under the trailer... and the trailer itself is 14" longer at the back.

It looks like you forgot to account for the 2" wide tounge b4 you cut your front angle pieces.
Nice angles tho! They came out good. A lot of times a fella won't bother to make the nicer looking 45's on the square corners.
red line braces are in the right places if you use them. Will prob be fine without.
Will this thing still dump? hinges going to be 14" from end of dumpbox? Hang them off the back of that frame?

The frame and crossmembers are 2X3, and the tongue 2X2... so where the frame meets at the front, and the front most crossmember I'm going to notch for the tongue. I guess I could have run the tongue through to the next crossmember, or through all three, but I think this way will be just as good... and I can use cheaper metal for the gussets.
Thanks about the angles. This is the first time I used my new chop saw. Again, I thought 45s would allow for more weld... so that's why I went that way.
Yup, she's still gonna dump. The hinges will be at the rear most of this frame. Exactly, 14" from the back of the dump box. The pivot point will be right behind the springs.
