oh yeah, its goofy as hell. no doubt. I didn't show a pic perspective that the seats kind hang out behind the main hoop. It needs lots more stuff B4 doing anything tough.
It runs tho, and I'm scrapping the ZJ. Will be using the crane and winch around the yard.
The ZJ is getting gone to give up the links and joints. Then i gotta decide where I'm at for time in regards to Jam.....and either chop CJ frame, link it, and do rear pipe work all at once, or just rear pipe, or, or.....ya know. Still sorta up in the air. I'm not knocking myself out.
I'm just getting the ZJ chopped to get back at the CJ. It is the priority. How far i get on the CJ depends on how close Jam gets. I'm not putting myself in the position of having no locked cool rig come Jam.
Its tougher to manage, but driving your rig a bit between building stuff keeps me motivated. Yesterday i did a bunch of burnouts and it was sunny. .....now onto the ZJ to keep on progressing.
I guess my end goal is Rue's Valley Crawl.
rear truggy'd out, on my ZJ suspension, flat belly, hydro steer and Toy axles.
I've got a Justaspline mid-shaft for a 231 crawl box I'd like to get into it somehow too. maybe go to 4.0/auto at that point.
The T-18 is fine for now, I just like auto's better.

It wouldn't climb a thing, without rolling over backwards. edit - just looked it up - 83.5 Your going down Rue! Good in the yard for a tubboat tho! That's its current mission. It will be signifigantly stretched for your event. and with hydro steer, i can put the front way out too. Moe: the ZJ drivetrain is an option, with a crawlbox. thing is i don't have any good pass drop t-cases. got a Ford 205 that would be killer behind a 231 crawlbox, but its driver drop. Might have to pickup a 300 and sell the 205.

I got an orbital for practically nothing. why fawk with steering linkages when you can run hose? no steering box mounting either. makes locating front axle so much easier.
so i will go that route.

Working on this in a weird pattern. top down or something. leafs are staying for Jam, so I went ahead and started on the upper rear cage. getting some ideas and rough measurements CAD done and cut to length, to 1/16" 12 footer, pretty tough to keep square. Hhmmm, well its out some. Would probably look crooked on the rig. I didn't get the rotation right between bends. Still learning best ways to load this homemade thing. fixed the big one by sectioning it in the middle so the bends will lay flat, and machined an inside sleeve to plug weld in.

just tacks. notice later i have a hoodie on during welding. The mask is 8577 fine particulate with carbon for the fumes. No black boogers says it works. And the bottom exaust keeps your mask or visors from fogging. fits good, not uncomfortable. I welcome comments on safety. thanks for posting pics Scott. back at 'er. i should have the rear upper stuff welded in this afternoon.
