Sounds like it isn't coming off the pilot arc and going full power. That's what happens if you don't have a ground. Take the cover off and check to make sure the ground is connected inside.
Cold won't bother it.

Did you clean out the machine filter and drain the compressor? It shouldn't mind the cold, and the they love the winter dry air.
maybe consumables are in wrong? compare them to your old ones, make sure they are exactly the same. look for machining errors.

ya i drained compressor twice and cleaned out compressor filter and plasma filter. comsumables look good. the only other thing i notcied last night a strange sound comming from inside and i could see light arching on the inside of the machine thats why i thought allan might be onto something with the ground?

unplug it! pull the cover and look for loose wires.

yep, I know of two with disconnected wires inside, since yours was working maybe its just a loose one also, how much psi you running ? there is a switch on some of the cheapies for low and high pressure, higher for thicker metal - flick any switches accidentally ?

its has an adjustment at the regulator and a knob for adjust ment while cutting that you can adjust for steel thinkness. kinda like one on a welder.

I bought a couple hack-saws yesterday, If the Egyptians can build the pyramids with sticks and stones surely to god we can cut a silly little skid plate out. We're computer guys, c'mon now.

ps. may have found the problem with the plasma. brandon found a cracked swirl ring on the shop floor. must have fell out and went unnoticed. ill know for sure when i order a few of them and try it out again.

They won't work without the swirl ring, or even with a cracked one. Just had to replace mine because it cracked, first one in 7 years of cutting.
