that was a nice clean cut. looks like all the slag cracked off real good too. sometimes my plasma leaves some nasty slag behind that will not crack off and I have to grind it. I think it might be from the air pressure turned up to high and it makes for excessive splatter on the bottom side of the cut.

nice cuts Alan, hard to ask for much better than that, 'specially with plasma.

May I interupt for a quick plasma tip? - Thick gross slag welded on = too slow, or too hot, or a combination. So go faster. High air pressure doesn't cause welded slag. Nice cut Alan. She's bang on. The Hypertherm Powermax 380 is still working great!

I was think that, but didn't feel it my place to speak up. cutting with an oxy/acetylene torch is much the same.

What Jan said, and I also don't find the Chinese plasma's cut as nice as a Hypertherm.

Put the frame extensions in the mill to square up the ends. All smoothed out. Joint was V'ed out before the weld, and welded inside from both ends as far as I could reach (6-7").

Fighting a cold, but didn't want to waste a whole day, so I got a bit done. Cab mount cut off, braces tacked on, and frame marked for cutting. Cut line is in the black, line in the yellow is for reference. Step hole is the reference point for the front. It's cut! Front half. Probably won't be able to work on it again for a few days.
