looking good Alan. The extra length would be in the OD unit on the back of the trans.

Got the motor mounts started. Had some XJ spring shackle bushings, so I used those in some scrap tube I had. Plates tacked onto the frame. Other side is almost done, then engine will come back out and I'll finish welding/gusseting.

Got the other side tacked in place late this afternoon, had to get the frame out of the way so dad could use the shop. I'll probably be back to axles next. Got a second short side axle for the 8.8 from Tracy, so I will shorten the long tube to match. I'll be getting the tube for the front axle this week too.

Cut off off all the old suspension mounts I won't be needing. I was hoping to use the Dakota rad, but it is just too big. My CJ one wouldn't fit the TJ grill shell without major modifications, but I can make the CJ grill and rad together work! TJ steering box sticks up a lot, the rad needs the outlets changed from side to side, so I can make some clearance in the tank at the same time. Going to have to make some room for the steering lines in the bottom of the grill too.

There has been a CJ with a TJ tub on it down here for years, so I am familiar with it. Jeff made something that is simple to do very complicated! All that needs to be done is cut the 2 hoods and graft them together! If I was using stock fenders, the CJ ones will bolt to the TJ tub just by drilling new holes in them.

Nice press setup. How do the tubes come out? easy or hard and scary?
Is that 3" bodylifts made into 1.5" behind the saw? lol I did that for Scott one time.

If you get the plug welds cut out good, they press out fairly easy.
Yes, I cut down the body lift in Lance's truck.

Haven't done much last couple days, finished up the motor mounts, cut off anything on the frame I won't be using. I did get the piece of tube out of the 8.8 this afternoon. Then I put the axles in to get my length. Track width is 63", little over 1" more than a JK. The tubes are 3.250" OD, but where they go in the housing it is 3.230", so I have to turn down the end of the tube before I can put it back in.

Been working on the frame as I have time. Filling in factory holes and grinding it smooth.
Worked on some rear suspension geometry this afternoon.
