I took the time this weekend to upgrade the seats in my TJ. The original seats had to have the hinges welded in a couple of spots which meant no adjustments except sliding up and back. I found a set of 2006? Tiburon black leather seats that have the manual adjust with tilt back, lumbar adjust and seat height adjustment. The price was right for $40 for the set at a local junk yard (Pash's Auto Salvage). The passenger side seat has a little scuffing at the top of the seat with a small tear. I will have to see what it costs to have an upholstery shop fix it. The new seats have a lot longer slide on them so I can damn near slide it back until it touches the rear seats to get some extra leg room. The TJ seat brackets mounting studs are only 11" wide and the Tiburon had a mounting width of 17". I had some 3"x .25" galvanised flat bar laying around so it made perfect brackets to mount the seats to the original TJ frame. Didn't turn out too bad at all and they are mega comfy. lol Aaron

I have to admit, I love my ultra hyde camel back orange Apex seats. These take the cake though, I would gladly install a set of these. Well done Aaron!

Thanks guys... Went for a little cruise in it to check out how well they perform and it was definitely a worth while upgrade.

Tim, I never had time to finish it so I just have a ratchet strap for the passenger. ;D

Looks great Aaron. And I'd keep the ratchet strap in place, just find an off-camber and push the button...BAM, side ejection seat, as long as the doors are off

This month the jeep needs safety inspection and I have been taking my time and going over it well. I had to replace both front hub assemblies, fix an exhaust clamp and check to see if the exhaust manifold is leaking or cracked. I also replaced the rear pinion seal as well. I found a bad spot on the frame right beside the driver's rear upper control arm. I chipped away the scale to find it and it was disappointing to see, but I am glad I found it now and not after it broke free. I am ordering a piece to replace the whole area with the upper and lower control arm mounts all together from justjeeps.com out of Toronto. I will get a pic of the bad spot this week to show what I need to replace. Aaron

I forgot to mention that I had some JEEP logos created to stitch onto the seats. Mostly because the passenger seat had a small tear in the leather and I wanted it covered. Here it is all stitched on... Aaron
