So the 95 xj ebrake cables I picked up are not going go work. The exposed cable part that clips onto the adjuster and main cable is way too long. Also the end with the spring that clips to the brake arm is also too long. What has everyone else been using for longer ebrake cables for a 97 -99 TJ?
Also I measured for the rear shocks and got 13" at full compression and 27" at full droop. I haven't been able to find a shock with those measurements. Closest I have found is a Skyjacker with 15.95" and 27". Maybe outboarding is my only choice?

Try a better brand of XJ ones for a d35
Or you can try 2 left side 98 XJ , they would be really long tho

Scott, I looked at them and they are almost 30" longer than the stock ones. Lol I guess I shouldnt have took the measurements for the shocks without the track bar attached. Now I can't belive how much it limited the travel. With it attached I only have 24" of droop and my +4 shocks should work just fine. With this I think the stock ebrake cables should be fine if I dont attach them to the lower arms like Chris suggested. I wanted to be able to add some more fluid to the rear diff since I had to tip the pinion in the air to correct pinion angle from the belly up. I drilled a new 3/4" hole and welded a nut to the outside of the cover. I got it all painted up and reinstalled now. Aaron

I just removed that exact 'plug' setup from my buggy trans pan. The straight threads are probably going to leak, even if you use a pipe thread plug. i switched to pipe thread weld-on flanges. (see last update in my buggy thread) And to cover the 3/4" hole, I just welded on some 60G sheetmetal and hit it with the flap disc. Can't even see it.
Also, you could cut out a little rectangle, with the stock fill plug being the bottom...and flip it around so the plug is high, and weld it back in.

Finally got all the rear brakes replaced and adjusted. Drums, shoes, hardware, ebrake cables and ebrake adjuster/balancer. Could only find the adjuster/balancer at the dealer, expensive little sucker @ $32.00.
I have been working on some wiring as well. Not too much extra on my rig, but I have the toggle switch to the electric fan, thru a flex-a-lite relay and then I have a bosch relay for 2 driving lights that I have no idea where to mount them now lol. Have all the joints soldered and then wrapped with heatshrink. I also have weatherpack connectors to easily remove the switches without disassembling everything.

Hopefully mine will hold as well. Did it on the race truck and used an O-Ring on the bolt without issues. So that is what I did. No leaks as of yet.

Theoretically, it will leak. lol There is a spiral pathway for the fluid to follow in the root of the straight threads. My bung will be fully immersed in the fluid so i did it 'right'.
But I hear ya's, if its been working, it works. Right enough!
