if it leaks just buy a solid diff cover from peck's and be done with it ;D I didn't want to spend any more money on this Dana 35 Chris. I do have plans for an 8.8 this year or over next winter. I hate spending money on something to just throw it away. TIm, I can help with the rear brakes, no problem my friend. We just need to co-ordinate some time off to get it done. Do you have any vacation days coming up? Aaron

Theoretically, it will leak. lol There is a spiral pathway for the fluid to follow in the root of the straight threads. My bung will be fully immersed in the fluid so i did it 'right'. But I hear ya's, if its been working, it works. Right enough! im not relying on the threads to seal, im using a gasket. much the same as a oil drain plug in your oil pan, no pipe threads there. rubber gasket if its still factory.

I had to purchase a new tie rod setup since my stock one broke. I ended up going with the Rugged Ridge HD Cross-Over Draglink and Tierod with new tierod ends. Quite a beefy unit that is 1.25" ID DOM tubing with .25" wall thickness and 7/8" large tierod ends. Since the pass side lower tierod end is where the draglink attaches to, it creates a better geometry in relation to the track bar. Both are now on the same plane and much closer to horizontal. Installed pic... I also picked up a Rough Country 24" stainless steel rear brake line for the extended droop. Next on my list was the gas tank tuck... I ended out taking out @ 1" all the way around the skid plate and welding it back together. The skid is now all primed and painted and I extended the gas tank straps. Putting the tank and skid back into place I ran into a shitty issue with the new rear crossmember I built for the body mounts. I made the rear crossmember 3"x3" and the original one was 3" tall by 2" wide. Thismeans that my top of the tank is hitting the rear crossmember I put in by 1/2". I now have the crossmember cut out 1.5"x1.5" the width of the tank and I have a piece of angle iron to put in place to create the space I need. I will have pics with this soon to show. What is the recommended toe in for an alignment? I want to adjust to be able to get it in town for an alignment but dont want it too far out of wack. What should I try to shoot for? Aaron

Thanks Allan. I have been researching and a lot of people have been saying 1/16" to an 1/8" but wanted a second opinion. Thanks I apprecate it.

Well I have been working hard trying to get all the little things buttoned up before my appointment on Friday morning to have the 4 wheel alignment done and a new exhaust.
All the little things take so much time. Charge the battery, hook up winch, modify shifter to work in all gears and reverse, install center console with the two toggle switches for the e-fan and lights. Clean the 1/2" of dust/dirt out of the interior, put the doors back on, tuck up the wiring neatly, hook up the CB, mount the spare tire and modify the bump stops to give proper bumpage lol.
I have also removed the skids off the bottom to give access for the exhaust work, fill diffs with new gear oil, top up t-case oil, top up power steering fluid and rad fluid. I need to run the beast for a bit tonight to get it up to temp and make sure the air is all out of the cooling system. ALso need to make sure my relay is working properly for the e-fan.
Hopefully it will be loaded on the trailer tonight and ready for it's appointment Friday morning.

I had the appointment to get the exhaust done and the alignment finished up on Friday. All is good and it drive straight as an arrow. lol Here is what they came up with for the exhaust. It is clean and does the job but I cannot stand that resignating sound from under the jeep. The turndown has to go, or I need to fully bedline the interior of the tub and make it thick. The turndown from under the cab has taken away the nice throaty sound of the Magnaflow system. It is functional but not perfect. The Alignment was barely off, from my DIY garage try. He said it would have been good enough to not wear the tires lol. Lucky first try I guess. My rear axle on the other hand was out 1/2" an inch. I never had lower adjustable arms in it, but wanted to see how bad it was compared to the front. Well now I know and I ordered lower adjustable arms to fix that issue. They only charged me for a 2 wheel alignment and said for me to bring it back when I installed the lower arms and they will redo the alignment for free. Just to check my work. lol I dropped the jeep off to my friend, so he can fix the 2 front tub body mounts. I trust his work and I know it will be done right. Aaron
